Think all of the coaches are due a raise after they join the B1G. Maybe not Prime Time.Didn't know about this dude but that is impressive. Glad he is in the PAC10 and we don't have to run into him. Uh wait.....

DeBoer has been a hell of a coach so far. I think he was the OC at Indiana when they had a good year a few seasons ago. He coached Penix there.UW's head coach makes 4.2 million per year. He is 111-13 lifetime. Seems he is doing fine as a low paid P5 coach.
He was IU OC for a year before he went back to Fresno State as HC. He worked there under Tedford IIRC and Tedford stepped away for health reasons (did again just a couple days ago).DeBoer has been a hell of a coach so far. DeBoer, paid same as Greg, is getting paid $323,000 per win.DeBoer has been a hell of a coach so far. I think he was the OC at Indiana when they had a good year a few seasons ago. He coached Penix there.

DeBoer is the reason Penix went to UW, not NIL or anything. Actually IIRC, Jake Haener the Fresno QB was going to transfer to UW to reunite with DeBoer but he changed his mind and then Penix came along. Haener was a productive qb for him too so he's got some track record with regards to replacing Penix for next year.
I'm guessing by his record of 67-3 at Sioux Falls and 12-6 (9-3/6-2 only full season) at Fresno State, he will do just fine.Interesting to see how good they will be after Penix leaves. We saw what happened to Allen.
In South Jersey. He wasn’t as strong in North Jersey. Most Jersey kids will prefer to play in the Big 10.Hate to say it but Brown will out recruit Schiano in Jersey.
Didn't Pitt get a verbal from Rivals #1 ranked NJ high school recruit in the 2024 class....running back from St. Joe's ?

Even without a Fieldhouse? I find that hard to believe. In South Jersey. He wasn’t as strong in North Jersey. Most Jersey kids will prefer to play in the Big 10.
Good player.Yes, Yasmin Willis
HAIL TO PITT!!!!
different conference, HCs pay should be compared to their peers and when low only look at conferences wish a lower average pay scale that hires someone for more money.UW's head coach makes 4.2 million per year. He is 111-13 lifetime. Seems he is doing fine as a low paid P5 coach.

Thank you. We seem to agree. Mid to lower level coaches such as Schiano Wilcox, Dillingham, etc. get paid about $4M and below. Greg's salary is appropriate. Regardless of the conference we are in, we are cash-strapped, trying to catch up with our conference peers in facilities. That is why Greg negotiated hard for the fieldhouse and other non-salary guarantees. Now there is NIL. It would be counterproductive to the success of the program to increase Greg's salary for no reason when that money could be more prudently spent on other priorities to make the program successful.different conference, HCs pay should be compared to their peers and when low only look at conferences wish a lower average pay scale that hires someone for more money.

UW's head coach makes 4.2 million per year. He is 111-13 lifetime. Seems he is doing fine as a low paid P5 coach.
Not sure what that question is supposed to imply.Think if he signed with, say Michigan St., after, W's bowl he'd be paid 4.2?
Would Penix have been anywhere near the QB at RU that he was at Washington and Indiana? I'm guessing not, unless DeBoer was his coach.DeBoer, paid same as Greg, is getting paid $323,000 per win.
Greg is getting paid $666,000 per win.
Have proposed this before. P5 coaches get a base salary of $4M. $1M for each win over 6. You win 12, you get $10M.
Greg does not need a raise. Or an extension with 4 years left on his deal. If he does "well" next year, give him a 2 year extension and a small bump, but not over $5M. If he does not do well, then maybe we could hire DeBoer for $5M.
But according to rutgersal and some others here, only Greg can succeed here because this is NJ?
See below.
Jake Haener was a lightly recruited 3 star, only P5 offer was UW. In DeBoer's full year at Fresno State, Haener passed for 4,100 yards, 33 TD/9 INT. In his final year at Fresno, he was significantly less productive.
Coaching matters.
I'm guessing by his record of 67-3 at Sioux Falls and 12-6 (9-3/6-2 only full season) at Fresno State, he will do just fine.
Note that Penix was a 3 star pro-style QB recruit. His P5 offers were Tennessee (Butch Jones) that evaporated after Jones was fired, and Oregon, FSU, and Rutgers!!!! Think that UW will be fine after Penix leaves.
Now compare what Schiano took over to the coaches that came before DeBoerThank you. We seem to agree. Mid to lower level coaches such as Schiano Wilcox, Dillingham, etc. get paid about $4M and below.
