Just turned on the women’s finals and was surprised at all the empty seats. Thought women tennis was more popular than this.

Looked pretty full to me. At least much more crowded than previous rounds. In general the women’s matches don’t get big crowds. Plus no huge draw for them right now. The men’s final will be packed tomorrow due to the GOAT playing.

Except Alcaraz. He’s going to be great once he gets a new nutrition and fitness coach.

Oddly absent from this discussion is that this was an excellent match between Swiatek (who will be a legend when all is said and done) and Muchova. Fantastic tennis. I’m hoping Ruud can keep up with Novak tomorrow morning.

Also if you include Ruud as a young player, he is really coming into his own. Watched a bunch of his matches at the US Open last year. For today I still expect the GOAT to take the major lead lead. Should be a good match regardless.

Young players suck in both men's and women's tennis.
Women's tennis has been awful for years. No great personalities or superstars to bring in fans. Beyond the 3 big on the men's side, same problem. Federer retired, Nadal's career has one foot in the grave, and now we will see how long Djokovic can hold back father time to feast on interior younger players. Not looking good.....

I’ve been reluctant to admit this because I’m partial to Federer, but I think you have to say Djokovic is the greatest of all time now. Only player to win all four majors at least 3 times is a massive stat. Federer changed the game and allowed for guys like Nadal & Djokovic to take advantage, but Novak’s body of work is now just too incredible to ignore.

Reasonable. The guy a few posts up though would be saying the same ranking even if Djokovic had 50 slams 🤣
