Anyone have any tricks/tips on how to get an address to show up on GPS? I have a business that before me had two entrances from 2 different roads, for a variety of reasons I need to quit using one of the entrances & start using the 2nd one. I've been given an address by the city/county GIS folks, but it doesn't show up on any commercial gps system. In fact, the road itself doesn't.

I've already submitted edits to the 4 services listed here http://www.gps.gov/support/user/mapfix/devices-and-maps/ & have been shot down by all 4. For all I know there's businesses that create solutions for such quandaries; I'd gladly pay to have it show up.

You need it in your GPS everyday? After you drive it once or twice I would think it wouldn't matter if it is in your GPS.

He's not talking about using it for himself -- but for others to be able to find his business and "come in the right gate" so to speak....

You can share pins on a map on just about all cellphones. I know it's a built in functionality on iOS. I know people were sending tailgating coordinates to one another.

Not a bad idea, I've heard of it but haven't ever used it. Can you share a pin to a location you aren't currently located?
Thanks.

My only experience is w/a friend who bought a rural lot (it never had a house or building on it that needed an address). First time I went there I stopped at the gate and stored the coordinates it showed (not address) so I could find it when I returned. The next time I went I called it up from memory (stored as his name in GPS memory) and told gps that was my destination and it put an address up by itself and took me straight there. I don't know if there had been a map update, if it interpolated the address on its own but you may try that. Should be good enough for GPS use but maybe not for mail use.
