So I took the dive on a complete new set of clubs tonight. First time I dabbled off in the club market in five years, and they have come a long way. Anyway...I went TaylorMade from putter to driver. I got this weird thing about uniformity I guess. I had a budget to stay within and it all fit together. I got TaylorMade Burner Plus irons. By far, within the price range, they had the best feel I thought. Very forgiving without sacrificing distance. The driver was a little different, I had it narrowed down between a Burner Superfast 2.0 and also a Callaway Diablo. I couldn't feel a difference so in the end I went with the Superfast.

So I ask the Pack, was it a good choice? What are your preferences?

I am only a hacker and I know little of the game but I do love to play. So here's my two cents:

I'ts hard to go wrong with the major name brand clubs these days. Getting fitted properly is more important than the brand. You did fine if you like them and can gain confidence in them. I went with the Callaway Razor X's last year and I have seen a huge difference in my medium to longer irons. My last set was purchased in the 90's so there was a huge jump in technology. I got the 3 iron through A-Wedge, my favorite club is the A-Wedge.

I don't know how often you play and/or practice but it takes me most of a season to learn a new set of clubs, especially the driver. So, I don't change them very often. Last word is you did fine with your choice but expect a some time adjustment to learn them.

Like other person said, its hard to go wrong with any major brand these days. Assuming you got the correct flex in shafts you should be good to go. If you ever wanted to get them dialed in I'm sure there is a club guy near you with a launch monitor to help you with this. This can get pricey though depending on shafts. Nothing wrong going one brand all the way through. My bag has 5 different brands but I'm a little OCD about my sticks
