Moth balls. They will get rid of squirrels, coons, possums or whatever critters invade your attic. Just fling them randomly all through the attic. Your house will smell like moth balls for a few days but you will be rid of critters.
That’s just what we need. You get rid of the squirrels but what are you gonna do with all those transgender moths!

I have a squirrel that has decided to make my attic his home. I have no clue how he's getting in, and the only pest control guy I reached out to told me that squirrels are extremely hard to catch and so the best bet was to seal up the hole during the day when the squirrel was out and about.

Anybody dealt with this? Is there some equivalent to hotdogs soaked in antifreeze for squirrels?
I had one in my attic once. As luck would have it, I was out of town for a few weeks with work. My wife was not interested in trying to catch the squirrel and figure out what to do with it if she did catch it.

We ended up hiring this guy called the critter catcher… if you’re in the Jackson area and looking to hire someone, I’d recommend him. He put a one way trap on the side of the house there the squirrel was getting in. Caught 3 of them actually. If you don’t want to fool with it, he was actually pretty reasonable. If you don’t mind fooling with it, buying a trap from tractor supply would also be pretty easy.

Not exactly apples to apples, but this guy may have some pointers...

a pellet rifle or a 22 short. if you use the short don't miss. a short will fire in a semi-auto if you dont have a bolt rifle, but you'll have to feed it into the chamber and eject it manually.

yes i have shot a couple in the attic.

Tried that. No dice. That's when I called the pest control guy and he told me squirrels are near about impossible to trap.
Squirrel trap baited with peanut butter/apple should do the trick. Just make sure not to let him go in your yard because he'll just go back in the attic. Take it a few miles away and release.

Go to Ace or Truvalue and get a squirrel trap. Use peanut butter as the bait.
Just removed a whole family from my attic. Then seal up wherever they’re getting in.

Large sticky traps work well, then you can remove it and taunt his friends with it.
Then cut pieces of hardware cloth and tack it over the entry points. Worked for me when we had flying squirrels 15 years ago.

We had a squirrel in our attic at our previous house many years ago. I went to home depot and bought a small trapping cage, baited it with peanut butter, set the trap and caught the squirrell within 2 hours. Then, I draped a towel over the trap, drove him out to the country, and let him go. Pretty simple. Don't waste your money on paying someone else to do it for you.

Ok yall have convinced me. I'm about to go grab one of these. I will update when I catch this 17er.

Get a .22 rifle, a shotgun and or a cat and have fun!
Fried squirrel with biscuits and brown gravy and mashed potatoes with some sweet tea is hard to beat!

At my old house I had that problem. Kt was actually like a whole nest of them, but I didn't know it at the time..

Get you some treated blown in insulation. It's soaked in Boric acid and they hate it. They'll leave on their own (if they can)

I found out a while later that I had to have my roof patched and they cut out some of the plywood. When they did, they found about 5 squirrels buried under the insulation.

Moved to now house which is in a neighborhood. Moved here from my farm/ranch. At farm if I had a problem with a varmit I would take my .17hmr and shoot them. Now in neighborhood people around me really don’t like any weapons being fired even BB/pellet guns.

When moved here there are multiple huge oak trees. Where oak trees are squirrels are. There was a bunch of squirrels here and they were defoliating other trees making huge messes in the yard. There was one squirrel that had no tail. Set hav-a-hart trap. First squirrel trapped was the one without a tail. Went to other side of neighborhood and released to some farm land. Next morning went outside and the no tail squirrel was sitting in my driveway laughing at me.

They make a squirrel/rodent spray. It doesn't kill them, just runs them out of the attic. I got it at Home Depot. While they are out fix the hole(s).

Be sure to find the holes, and have everything ready to patch the holes already in place, including prestarting in screws used to attach boards. that way you don't have to breathe it long. It says human safe but it sure did smell BAD.
