It depends on what is behind the vinyl siding. If it is plywood or oriented strand board, then no problem. If it is brick or block walls, you need to find the furring strips behind the vinyl siding, or you will need to use a masonry drill bit and a "blue screw" masonry screw.

Since it is a ranch, you could try going into molding that is right under the roof overhang if you have it. While this may be higher than where you want to hang the wreath, you can use string or fishing line to position the wreath vertically on the outside wall.

How heavy is the wreath?

Plastic hooks that peel and stick. Put ours up last year and they're still there today.

Try this. After thinking about it, no need to put holes in you siding. Your local hardware store should have something that works. I would skip Home Depot and Lowes--a number of times the local hardware store was much more helpful than the big box stores.

I just put a deck screw right through the siding and into the wall behind it. Then leave it there, and use it every year. If you wanted to get crazy you could paint it to match the siding and caulk around it, but frankly, its not enough to make difference, nor will anyone ever see it anyhow.

Just put a hook in each window - run some of that thin green Christmas wire from one window to the other and then hang wreath in the center. That's kind of how my town hangs wreaths across the middle of the road (with wires going to utility posts)

Go to local hardware store (or even local Walgreens/CVS) and get these (Outdoor version)

easy on / easy off - and won't damage siding.

Went looking for these after post suggestions, after 2 Home Depots, Lowes , 2 walmarts and Walgreen no luck. They were sold out in Home Depot in Freehold and Howell. So will try hardware stores tomorrow and call stores tomorrow to see if they received new deliveries.

Thank you everyone for the help, I am determined to get this last wreath up. After 44 years of RU football, I never give up on any project!
