How do I know? Because, statistically, it’s not true, and James is all about statistics. Plus, I spent the last half hour looking for James saying something like this. There’s nothing out there.
Caveat: it’s possible that the formulas James uses don’t make a distinction between strikeouts and other outs. I’ll check.
