Any others going? Anyone seen him live? Probably gonna get high from secondhand smoke. But, I hear he puts on a good show.

My roommate is going. I saw him live, it's good stuff. And yes, you'll more than likely be high by the time it's over.

Saw him back in 95 and 96....

They put on a good show, but not enough guitar for my liking..
Chicks dig Dave though, you might get laid if you take your girl..
I doubt you have a problem with weed, the DMB following is nothing like the Dead, WSP, or Phish.

The Black Crowes are on tour again, check them out.. Jackie Greene is in guitar now, guy is good..
Jackson, MS even made the cut..

Saw him with Tim Reynolds in a school gym of probably only 3,000 people. He was haaaaaammered and talking with the crowd. I don't know how he'll be with the whole band in a packed out arena, but I think he's pretty interactive all the time so you should have fun.

I THINK he's gotten sober since then. If that's the case, I'm sorry. It was the best part of the show.

1) people still see dmb? i went once in HS like 15 years ago and that was enough for me.

2) i don't think dave really draws the weed crowd anymore. maybe some sorostitutes or HS kids that smoke once a year. if you think a dmb show has a lot of weed, you've lived a sheltered life.

I'm still pissed Chris Robinson Brotherhood isnt touring this year

Personally I would rather see that line up than the black crowes

Holly shat they're touring with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Derek Trucks is a super guitarist and his wife/singer has an angel's voice. But....they aren't coming to Jackson.

I wonder who opens for TBC.

Be prepared to leave a huge John Butler fan if you aren't already. I saw them last weekend in Nashville (actually skipped out on WSP to see JBT), guys are amazing. I can't stress that enough, don't miss them opening up. He's an Australian guy, doesn't get much love up here, but they're a blast.

I saw DMB this spring at Oak Mountain this spring. He was good. Crowd kind of sucks, very frat-tastic. I've never seen so many polo shirts and tiny shorts in my life. Other than that, it was fun.

Yeah.. I really like the CRB stuff too.
Has a great hippy groove to it, not as much Rock and Roll.
I saw them twice last year and was really impressed. I really thought they had a good thing going.
Neal Casal is badass on the guitar too.
Not sure if Chris, Rich and the band needed to make some $$ or what. Chris always seems to go out and play side-projects.

There are some good acoustic sets from last year with Chris, Greene and Weir.. check it out..

This tour has been the best IMO since leroi passed. Expect a good mix of new and old and maybe a cover or two (dont fear the reaper and all along the watchtower). While Dave has lost a little range over the years his voice seems to be in better shape than it has in the past for this late in the tour and it has had a few days rest so you might get to hear some of the more vocally challenging songs like halloween. There isnt a lawn at the wharf and like someone else said this isnt WSP or Phish so the smoke shouldnt be that bad. Also, get there early because if you arent already a John Butler fan you will be after you hear him live. Should be a great show, have fun.

JBT is outstanding.

saw him in Nashville about 4 years ago, wish I could've caught the Ryman show. absolutely incredible stuff he does with a 12-string.

What is Duling Hall in Fondren? I've never been to an event in that venue.

There's always that one guy who is compelled to let everyone know he doesn't like DMB.

No doubt. I saw him at Mile-High in Denver is 08 or 09, and he was great. Seems like he's really expanded his talents too. Last weekend the guy played a 12 string, banjo, slide guitar, telecaster, and a 335. When I saw him in Denver it was all 12 string.

For everyone's reference:

Saw the Chris Robinson Brotherhood last year in Oxford and they put on one helluva show! That band has a lot of potential! I'm a diehard Crowe fan but they just aren't the same without Marc Ford. Btw... WSP killed it at Oak Mountain last weekend! Can't wait for WSP in Southaven in September!

Yah I saw them in Memphis last year and it was great

I had begun collecting a lot of yptheir live stuff and then they announce the Crowes tour. Hopefully they will continue to tour some. That line up has a ton of potential IMO. Both albums they released last year were awesome

JBT and Tedeschi Trucks is awesome.

I saw Dave at Hangout two years ago- he still puts on an awesome show, and he's always been one of the funniest guys around to me. He gives you your money's worth.

DMB is all around an outstanding band. They all can play their instruments with the best of them. Boford the drummer is one of the best in the world. There will be a lot of smoking there as there is everytime I go. I don't participate anymore however. Be prepared to get your mind blown tonight!

It's not a bad venue. I saw Billy Joe Shaver there a few weeks ago. Ever been to Babalu? Its basically in the same building.

Saw DMB at Southaven earlier this year. It was a good show, first time I had seen them in 10 years. Some smoke but not bad.

I realize it isn't panic or anything.

Just saying when I saw him there was plenty of smoke floating around. Maybe it was those damn rebels I was with.

Great show last night... (setlist)

Several green clouds in the crowd for sure including a father passing it down to his son and friends in the row in front of me. What a winner of a Dad.

Anyway, setlist was great. Incredible vocals. Rendition of (Don't Fear) The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult was a highlight... especially with the use of the cowbell on stage.

Dave Matthews Band @ Orange Beach setlist 7/23/13
1. Warehouse
2. Broken Things
3. Louisiana Bayou
4. Shotgun
5. Kill the Preacher

Saw them a few years back

outside of DC during the Big Whiskey tour. It was an amazing concert and I'd recommend seeing them to anyone. From other folks I've talked to that have seen DMB shows, they almost always include a cover or two in their act these days. When I saw them it was a cover of Talking Heads' Burning Down the House and an All Along the Watchtower/Stairway to Heaven medley that was outstanding.

Most of hose types of bands will play a lot of covers

When you mix up setlists as much as they do you see that much more. I have never seen DMB but have listened to a lot of his stuff live and it s damn good. The guy is talented as hell and has a great band around him
