We bought a box 3 months ago when an article came out saying this would happen. 5 lbs later, I remembered why I dont like them.

Those striking employees sure showed them... I bet that wage and pension cut doesn't look so bad right now.

Or buy the trademarks and make them in China.

Some company will buy the assets out of bankruptcy for 10 cents on the dollar and crank them out again. Albeit they may open in a right to work state.

Ho ho's from Hong Kong...

Union controlled company goes down and the world has less junk food. Barack and Michelle are high-fiving.

Many of those employees will have a chance to be rehired as non-union by the successor (which will look suspiciously like the predecessor company in terms of management). The shareholders/bondholders will get soaked though. Nobody will be widdout dey hos hos for long. "Mostess Brands, Inc." to the rescue.

When the Teamsters are telling you, "uh guys, you might want to reconsider that strike and go back to work" you really should listen to them.

I think Dolly Madison falls under the Hostess umbrella too. I am sure the Little Debbie execs have all called their wives to plan that vacation to Aruba.

Yep and BHO is trying to get even more unions in this country and he will if

he passes the Employee Free Choice Act.......That act takes away a union election by secret ballot and only requires 50%+1 to sign a card and you have a unionized plant........Plus, there's some lobbying going on to take away the "right to work" privilege in states that currently have that law..........

scuttlebutt is the union believes its workers will get a better deal from the new owner or from the combo of a new job and recovering a portion of their pension from liquidation (that Hostess was trying to eliminate).

it looks like past poor management has caused Hostess to be unable to compete while paying its workers market wages. free market at work.

Yeah, especially since I just found out that DM is now owned by Hostess........

I didn't realize that but they bought them a few years back.......Little Debbie is going to monopolize the market.........

One thing I have to ask is.... Why were the much larger and reputable Teamsters Union ok with it if it was solely due to "corporate greed"?

Also, being under bankruptcy, why would the court approve these salary increases they just decided to give themselves on a whim?

I ask these questions not to be argumentative, but for logic. I mean you are responding to the company's statements with the union heads statements like they should be held as a neutral factual party.

Jesus you people are roaches on society. It's all good in your kindergarden of Eden though. Nothing greedier than forcing the closing of another mans business.

Derstapö or SSeshömöru time...
