If you are Hunter Dickinson you probably aren’t playing in the NBA. Your highest value as a basketball player is right now.

This may seem on the surface good news to get him out of the conference, but this is a guy Cliff has competed against for 2 years. If I am Cliff and I see my peer get 7 figured I am going to want the same.

Fair point but Hunter and Cliff aren't in the same boat since Cliff has the student visa restrictions

Dont know how things work. What is the process of getting him to be a US citizen?
Not sure exactly, but it's a long process so he would already have to be in the process of applying for it at this point for it to be relevant pretty sure

I saw this rumored on another board and I said "there's no way".....welcome to the bridge folks.

I have considered the bridge, as a place where a kid has the most value to a college football or basketball program and can cash in at this level BUT, probably may not ever see this much guaranteed money at the next level of professional sports.

If Dickinson isn't a NBA lock, he has max value for a college team right now. He cashes in, graduating and then if he can play professionally, so be it.

The days of running out the door to the NBA or NBA G League, now depends on "G League price points"......the NBA will now have to have their CBA, raise the pay scale, otherwise the G League will lose players who will stay in college more.

If it couldn't get any more insane, welcome to right now.

Engineers are in the process of building more bridges.

Not sure why 50% of NCAA tournament revenue could have gone straight to the players and a compromise could have been made so a player could not make a dime off of their likeness.

I did the math a while back and I think it was in the $40,000 per player area per year.

He is real good friends with Jahmir Young, I would expect Maryland to be in it, unless it’s all about money.

Those schools can really outbid Michigan on NIL?

Wonder if it's more him being fed up with Michigan/Howard
Agree Sam. He doesn’t see a path to winning big at Michigan. I see him going somewhere where he feels the team he is with wins their conference and has a long run in the tournament. I think he was getting around $800K while at Michigan.

I expect to see this more often with big men. They’re not that valuable in the NBA. So get paid in college.
spot on. if you are a big man who had a decent freshman or soph year, you spend the next 3 years going to the highest bidder and transfer every season.

NIL BABY!!

Counterpoint, if he stayed at Michigan he could make money for years beyond his playing career as a beloved 4 year player. Instead he's burning that bridge.

I agree and have always said similar^^^. With the transfer portal basically being free agency every year, any good player would be dumb not to put their name in every year and let the bidding war commence. The system is set up where the player has complete control and nobody can stop them, so take full advantage.

I disagree. He has more tools in offensive tool box, but he doesn't have nearly the impact that Cliff has on the defensive end.

Both UM and RU would be better with Cliff at C
Cliff has his biggest impact as a help defender, but he also makes a lot of bad decisions double and triple teaming the ball and leaving other players open. He is a terrible man to man defender, many centers this year just abused him. Hunter is a much better man to man defender.

I think if you look at the stats when Cliff is in the game vs out of the game you realize the impact he has. Whenever Cliff leaves it will not be long until people realize how much he makes us better.

But then you have to look at who was in the game when Cliff wasn’t.
