I got bullied too when I was in grammar school. I had a paper route and this kid, that was a grade ahead of me (and probably held back or flunked a grade to be there) would chase me around all the time. Sometimes he caught me and beat me up a little. He took some of my paper route money from time to time and had me scared to death. I would literally run my entire paper route every afternoon because I was afraid he would show up. I didn't tell my teachers, I didn't tell my parents, and certainly didn't tell my older brother (I was too embarrassed to let them know I was not at least trying to defend myself). My brother would have found that dude, beat him up, then beat me up for being a chicken. LOL! Finally, one day I got fed up with it (very much like Ralphie in "A Christmas Story") and I snapped. He was bigger than me, but I just went crazy on his fat *** and started hitting him in the face as fast and hard as I could. A group of neighborhood kids started gathering and cheering me on. I beat the snot out of him. And,predictably, he was just a big ole sissy. He cried like a little girl and never bothered me or anybody else again. I"m sure he always picked on smaller and younger kids and nobody had ever fought back.<div>Some times kids just have to find a pecking order, figure out who's tough, who's smart, who's whatever. Teachers should interfere when it's in front of them, sure. And suspensions should be meted out, but there will always be bullies and in the words of that great theologian; Ralphie, "you're either a bully, a toady or part of the nameless rabble."</div><div>I'm sure there are cases where a kid is being bullied too much & over the line of cruelty, but I fear we as a society, are not letting the natural laws of boyhood take it's course. In some twisted way, I found out that I could be tough when I had to, by finally facing that jerk and beating his ***. Even if he hadn't been a wuss and had beaten me up again, I probably still would have been more confident and would have learned that I could face my adversaries.</div><div>The fat kid in the video is now enjoying his 15 minutes and I'll bet you he's a little more popular now in school. The skinny kid sucker punched big guy and it's shame his ankle was broken, but it will heal.</div>
