Does anybody have the video clip of this Reverend yelling "F*CK!!" In their game against Bama? Never heard a reverend yell that before.

I'd have no problem with it if it weren't for Freeze being concerned for Ritchie Brown's soul on the account of Ritchie attending MSU.

Freeze is actually ordained, apparently.

http://capstonereport.com/2013/02/0...miss-recruiting-strategy-relies-on-god/19098/

I couldn't find any other references to corroborate the claim in the above article that he was ordained by his home church. But if it's right there's nothing really out of order about him baptizing a family friend. Freeze just happens to be famous so it gets attention. Now, if he starts baptizing Preston Q. Lamar VIII and Bubba from Grenada just because they're Ole Miss fans, that's a little different.

Anyway, we already went through this at least once: http://forums.sixpackspeak.com/showthread.php?112431-Hugh-Freeze-Baptized-Touhy-s-son

I have, sorta. My golf buddy and I got paired with a guy one day who turned out to be an Episcopalian minister (I suppose they're priests ... not sure since I'm not Episcopalian). Anyway, the guy made a birdie on one hole, then totally messed up the next hole. We have a saying when that happens that it's a PBFU ... Post Birdie 17 Up. So my buddy tells the minister, "Well, there's your post birdie screw up". The minister turns to him and says, "I've always called it a Post Birdie 17 Up", and smiles. He knew my buddy was trying to be nice around a minister. They're human too.

Really? We're going to bash someone for being openly Christian now? This is rapidly getting old. And the recruits sure don't seem to mind.*

In his defense, the BP just did their release on Monday, so they are the true Germans here.

That's my only real issue with Freeze. He talks one game and plays a very different one.

It's not really Germans, different article. Posting it again is kind of like having an 8:00 a.m. service (no hangover non drinkers) and an 11:00 for those like me that can't make the early one.

"What if I make Coach Freeze baptize you?" Leigh Anne Tuohy

That was the funniest part to me. It wasn't, "You want me to see if Coach has time to do it?" It was Leigh Anne saying she'd "make" him do it. Reminded me of the movie, "Run the damn ball Hugh!"

Nobody is getting bashed for being openly Christian. It's more for being a fraud. Just like you, Rebel.

If that's

what you took from this thread, people bashing him for being openly religious, then you need to go touch up on your reading comprehension skills.

Really? So "Hotty Totty" to you. On an earlier thread you bashed Freeze's faith as being fraudulent, because he 'wore his Christianity on his sleeve", but couldn't control what his "18 year olds said." So, it's OK if your 18 years olds run amok (let's use LSU as an example) unless you are openly Christian? Whatever, Abdul.

I never said it's ok for 18 year olds to run amok. You have me confused with someone else. I said, basically, that 18 year olds running amok is a bad reflection on him and his "ministry" because he wears his christianity on his sleeve.

That, however, has nothing to do with this thread. Let's stay on topic.

It's a hard link to find, but the story was in the article about XenaReb sleeping with a NCAA investigator and Khayat hiding the PLOI for over a decade.

The topic "has nothing to do with" Freeze's religiousness? Did you really just say that? And you missed my point-- you're implying if your 18 year olds run amok (his were using slurs, not assaulting girls like Miles'), it's only a bad reflection on the guy that runs "a ministry". Other coaches get a pass--it's not a "bad reflection" on those coaches because they aren't openly Christian. That's asinine-- and offensive, Osama.

Don't bother looking.

Our school and compliance director are in control of the NCAA and the media. They squelched the story and had ESPN delete all links.

I don't care if he's baptist, methodist, scientologist, atheist, deist, pagan, or worships Zeus... I can't stand the douche, and anyone who throw's the "he's a good christian in my face" will never change the fact I don't like the 17er.

I knew plenty of people in my hometown (where Freeze grew up) who were model standup church going citizens on the surface... Just because you go to church on Sunday doesn't give you a hall pass from criticism... Everyone and I mean EVERYONE has skeletons in their closet or hiding at home..

The main fact is that he coaches for TSUN which I hate with every ounce of my heart.

I said GOOD DAY SIR!!!

I played golf with a preacher and he cussed, drank and gambled on the course

He told me "There are a lot bigger things to worry about, if these are your biggest issues, and they aren't affecting your life, don't worry about it"

I liked that attitude.

The topic in this thread is about how Freeze baptised the Touhy kid and how wierd that is to some people. It had nothing to do with the behavior of his players. Try to keep up.

But since you bring it up, no matter how offensive you try to be, it doesn't change the facts. Miles or Franklin will get more of a pass when their players screw up because they aren't out there preaching to everyone, touting morality and family. The word ministry that you mock with quotations is not my word. It's Hugh Freeze's. He has said "this is my ministry." So, if he is going to preach to everyone, and wear his christianity on his sleeve, and talk about his ministry, then, yes, he is opening himself up for more scrutiny. This isn't even a debatable point. You may think it's asinine or offensive, but guess what, you're wrong.

People like Freeze are held to a higher standard because they elevate themselves to that level. He will have his "Jimmy Swaggart moment" one day, and there's nothing any of you can do about it. He has set himself up for failure.

I don't pay much attention to it, but often take a second look whenever anyone wants to sell me anything, not based on its merits, but based on the seller's piety.

Where is he doing this? I'm not doubting you, I just haven't seen him doing this in a public forum. If he's out there evangelizing and telling people how they our to live, then I haven't seen it. If you have seen can you show it to me?
