is a local decision. There is no state statute or abc regulation that prohibits election day sales. It's totally a municipal or county decision.

The liquor stores don't open until the polls close (at 6). Apparently in the good old days of straight-up vote buying, it was common for candidates to get folks to vote for them with booze.

The only store I've ever seen that basically only sold cold beer and oysters on the half shell.

Also, as a native I can tell you that the liquor store in Wesson was one of the most profitable in the state because all the Lincoln County baptist love to make the drive across the Co-pie county line.

Getting back on topic, wasn't Edgar Allen Powe found dead on Election Day? He was drugged, fed booze, and made to vote over and over again. Nice to see not much has changed in Politics in 200 years.
