OT: Is wrestling kid-friendly again?

I haven’t watched wrestling since probably 1996 or so. I stopped watching when they went blue with all the NWO/Suck it/Stone Cold nonsense.

But I absolutely loved it as a kid with Flair, The Horsemen, Sting (pre-Crow), Piper, Dibiase, Duggan, Jake the Snake, JYD, etc.

I’m tempted to let my boys watch it, just because of how fun it was for me. Have they returned to kid-friendly programming?

WWE is. I assumed it would be more rated R on Netflix, but that hasn't been the case. I let my 10-year-old watch, but there is an occasional swear word or innuendo.

AEW is not. AEW tends to use saltier language and someone is bleeding every other match.

Thank you. We'll give it a shot on Netflix. We've watched some old Wrestlemania's and Royal Rumbles on Youtube and they love that. I'll have to learn these new guys myself.

Yeah, the WWE live shows like Raw and Smackdown are completely fine for the family, but just watch out for the specials on Netflix because they’ll sometimes take the filters off.

That said, I feel like I should warn you that if you’re looking for personalities like Piper, Savage, and Flair, I think you’re going to be very disappointed in this era of wrestling. There are a lot of good athletes out there, but most have zero charisma

I don't think it's necessary on random TV broadcasts, no. But in big matches it has its place. I'm not talking about the cheap blade jobs, but stuff like we saw from Flair and Dusty back in the day. WWE took all of that away.

I haven't really kept up with rasslin' in a long time. But I noticed on Netflix that the entire WWE (WWF) PPV catalog is out on Netflix now. I spent several hours a couple of saturdays ago watching some old memorable PPV matches, like Angle/Michaels at WM, some of the original TLC matches, some older stuff with Jericho, etc. The good ol' days.

And Lash Legend (Anriel Howard from our Vic Shaeffer team) is rising up the charts. She had some big moments in the Royal Rumble. She's getting a push. Her size alone gives her legitimacy. IMO, the women's rasslin' is tough to watch, and it's a significant portion of all the shows. When they do cartwheels, I'm out. Don't get me wrong, some of the ladies are great (Rhea, Charlotte, Asuka, Tiffy, Lynch, Sol Ruca). The others just look like gymnasts randomly throwing punches.

I got mine to watch the Hell in a Cell with Undertaker and Mankind with me. They don’t really watch it at all. The reaction to him throwing Mankind into the table off the top was great. They thought he was dead.

That part was planned. They used the table as padding. What wasn't planned was when Mankind went through the cage into the ring. He did in fact almost die from that. No sarcastericks.

I don’t know how they didn’t both fall through at some point. You can hear the bindings popping the whole time they are up there.

They had planned a fall through the center of the cage, it just happened earlier than planned, unexpectedly. The real problem with that fall was the chair that was falling right behind Foley that then smacked him in the face.

Toni Storm on AEW is just about the best thing going as far as women's rasslin'. I'm like you.....I'm not a fan of most of it. But she does a good job.

If they don't have the King, Superstar Bill Dundee, Rick and Robert Gibson, Assassin Number 1 and 2, and the Mongolian Stomper is it really wrasslin' anyway?
