He was the Mets' first pitcher to have a winning season,going 5-4 in their inaugural 1962 season.

When he went in after the season,he lamented that he was the lowest paid member of the Yale Class of 1956.

One sportswriter chimed in:"Yeah,and with the highest earned run average.

Another member of the 1962 Mets gone.They've had a very bad year.
