Whata shame. Kid who throws the unprovoked punch ruined his whole teams season and really hurt nj basketball as a whole. What a moron
Big guy throws first punch, little kid punches backI can't tell who was at fault. Looked like kids in lower right hand of screen were both throwing punches.
Why is Camden not a real team? Looking incident over again, dreadlocks kid on Camden threw first punch.saw this earlier. Can’t say im shocked. There have been a bunch of these this year and a bunch of teams banned from states. Camden isn’t even a real team anyways. They shouldn’t even be playing in the state public tournament. Would be hilarious if this is what got them kicked out
camden is not a real public team and haven’t been for years. They recruit kids from all over yet play in the public state tourney and leagues. It’s honestly a joke and the njsiaa has kicked the can down the road for years. They know it as does everyone else in high school basketball circlesWhy is Camden not a real team? but they are in the private brackets at least for states. Camden cheats and has been for years. Other publics do this as well but not to the extent they doYea but isn't that very common? Christian Brothers does same thing in track and XC. I get that they are private, but they'd compete against all the publics.
Meh Ive seen worse
i’m telling you the fan behavior ( also players) this year has been horrible in basketball. Fans fighting in the stands, fans running on the court trying to fight players, guns in the stands, players punching other players out, fans verbally and physically attacking refs. Horrible story. Now this - yikes bad day for NJ highschool

Lol c'mon. How is he playing then??? Did look kinda old for high school thoughGuy in dreads on Camden who was first involved is a 27 year old man, if you have been to one of their games and seen him you cannot disagree
Agreed but njsiaa rules are rules. Theyre banned. The “brawls” of 2023 are the common fouls of 1990Meh Ive seen worse
their whole team is ringers. Meanwhile they are playing against other group twos with kids from their actual town.Guy in dreads on Camden who was first involved is a 27 year old man, if you have been to one of their games and seen him you cannot disagree
He's a big boy for sure!Guy in dreads on Camden who was first involved is a 27 year old man, if you have been to one of their games and seen him you cannot disagree
You keep repeating this lie. That dude clearly punches him in the face. That wasn't a "common foul" in the 90s. StopAgreed but njsiaa rules are rules. Theyre banned. The “brawls” of 2023 are the common fouls of 1990
Correct. He punched him. Not a common foul. However, there is zero and i mean zero argument the sport has gotten softer. You used to be able to basically spear players on layups and it was a common foulYou keep repeating this lie. That dude clearly punches him in the face. That wasn't a "common foul" in the 90s. Stop

Cornelius def looks like he’s in his mid-20s. I wonder in Albany yanks his schollieGuy in dreads on Camden who was first involved is a 27 year old man, if you have been to one of their games and seen him you cannot disagree
CT "public" HS basketball is pathetic like that. Catholic schools recruit kids, break practice rules etc and win half or more of the state championships every year.camden is not a real public team and haven’t been for years. I do think basketball in the 90’s was more entertaining. And you think.. that was a good thing?
GET OFF MY LAWN!!!I do think basketball in the 90’s was more entertaining.
sounds like the NJSIAA. They are a joke. Now they've shortened all the sports seasons except football because they can make the most money off of that. Meanwhile basketball season is now shortened by two weeks so that there can be no overlap between sports seasons for the safety of the kids. Meanwhile that only effects a few teams that go very far and now teams are squeezing in 3 or 4 games a week every week. How is that fair for the safety of the kids. They consulted no coaches on this because any coach I've spoken to or heard hates it. They truly are a dysfunctional corrupt organization. This new lady that is running it is truly awful.CT "public" HS basketball is pathetic like that. CIAC is the CT organization and they should have a separate division for Catholic schools but those schools have influence so it will never happen.
AAU ball? LOL. Those kids play with zero heart, zero intensity and basically just play friendly pick up.GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
Cleaning up fighting after the malace at the palace was one of the smartest things the NBA did - thankfully that trickled down to NCAA and mostly to HS hoops. The game is better for it and so are the players.
If you want to watch more 90's like hoops, I recommend finding a crappy AAU tournament this spring/summer.. Look for the ones with the lowest entry fee for teams, they have refs do 8 games in a row.
"friendly pick up" HAHAHAHAHA!AAU ball? LOL. Those kids play with zero heart, zero intensity and basically just play friendly pick up.
But yes, from a pure entertainment standpoint basketball was more entertaining in the 90’s just as hockey was a better product when there was more fighting
this is a great post and spot on. coaches want to get those 25 + games in for the seniors, kids close to 1k etc. now with state tournament on Monday, you have teams cramming in 3 games this week.sounds like the NJSIAA. Yikes and I thought CT Public High School basketball was bad - NJ sounds even worse and there's a LOT more players therethis is a great post and spot on. coaches want to get those 25 + games in for the seniors, kids close to 1k etc. now with state tournament on Monday, you have teams cramming in 3 games this week.
CBA doesn't do that, get your facts straight. Academics come first at CBA. They became great in XC because they have a required freshman run. Historically the top 25 runners were put on the team. That built the tradition, that turned into a juggernaut.Yea but isn't that very common? Christian Brothers does same thing in track and XC. I get that they are private, but they'd compete against all the publics.
