Hell the Republicans scream they don't want abortion, but then when they are born they want to starve them to death.
news flash:
'Republicans'' who run for office claim to be against Abortion for one reason ONLY and that's to get the CHURCH vote.
Don't yall understand how getting elected as a republican works since 1980? The CHURCH vote changed the parties future.
lol Coal miners and church people....so easy to manipulate. The red party laughs about you every freaking day as they cut the taxes for the rich. GOOD TIMES!!!!!!!

Hey, better to pander to sovereign American citizens than import aliens by the millions illegally to vote for you since your party platform is so ****.

I’m not going to get into whether abortion should be illegal or legal. But it’s totally lame saying a woman should have the right chose what to do with her body. What ridiculous argument. A woman or a man doesn’t have the right to choose what they do with their body. It’s not legal to smoke meth. It’s not legal to drive drunk. It’s not legal to walk in someone else’s house. Etc. All of those things are choices you make about your body and what you do with it. But they are illegal.

I absolutely support a woman's right to chose. Every woman should have the right to choose to have sex or not.
She just shouldn't have the right to terminate the life of another human being because she doesn't like the consequences of that first choice. God hates the shedding of innocent blood. You can't get more innocent than an unborn child.
I'll admit I'm a republican. Have very conservative views. However, in order to think about economics in a rational way, religion has to be kept out of the conversation. Conservative views tend to lean more religious thinking and I agree that if you choose to have sex, you should have to live with the consequences of your actions. Unfortunately, at the current moment, our earth isn't able to support the population at the increasing rate we're pumping people out. The greater the population, the greater the amount of resources needed, pollution, overcrowding, etc. As I said, I agree that you should have to reap the consequences of your actions, but maybe we should just give em abortion and us not partake in it if we don't agree with it. People will get it done, in a more unsafe fashion, if they so choose anyways. Generally, the people that want to get an abortion are the ones that don't want to take care of their kids in the first place. One day, those same kids (not all but a great majority) will grow up. People like me and you will paying an average of 33,000$ per year to house them in a federal prison or they'll add to the amount of uneducated people that cause a majority of the economic problems (welfare, disability, food programs, etc.). Just some of my observations.

Edit: the hypocrisy the other poster was pointing out in your OP is that you believe in God but also believe in a woman's right to choose to have sex. God says that a woman should wait until marriage and that adultery is a sin. God can help in the right circumstance and hurt in the wrong circumstance. We need to know when to compartmentalize.

I wish people could put aside the democrat or republican labels. Too many people just refuse to vote for someone because they aren't in their own party. If he does run, vote for him or not based on is beliefs, ideas, and plans to help Ky, not just because he's a democrat. I'm republican and there are plenty of moderate democrats that I'd vote for over some of these tea party Republicans.
I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. I think think this is how it should work. Unfortunately, politicians aren't independent thinkers and actors anymore. Maybe they never were. Most of the time if you elect a Democrat, or a Republican, they succumb to the pressure to vote with their party, especially on key pieces of legislation. I just don't think you can trust an elected official to stand against his party on high profile pieces of legislation. If that were the case, the ACA, for example, would never have passed. Some have the courage to do it, but most fall in line and vote how they are told. Until politicians become more independent and vote based on what they actually believe, I think electing a Democrat, if you are a conservative, or a Republican, if you are a liberal, is too great of a risk.

I'm a republican so take this FWIW:

Don't think Jones would have much of a chance against McConnell. If anyone is going to beat McConnell, it'll have to be a Republican.

Maybe he'll do us a favor and not run.

Corruption rules the world. Money is always changing hands somewhere somehow. You know what they say, money talks and bs walks, sit down, shut up, and vote as your told. This is my way of saying I agree with your post lol.

at the end of the day dems and repubs are all really in the same party together being controlled by the Economic Royalists in the background. You see by having the parties pick opposite sides on every issue... it makes it easier for the Economic Royalists to get royally freaking rich off the back of the American economy and its people.

Economic Royalists. Franklin Roosevelt named them that. C o r p o r a t i o n s.

Like MJ primarily because he hates Louisville as much as I do....but he comes across as quite arrogant with the 'smartest person in the room' attitude to boot

And not sure how he could garner very many votes from Louisville fans which is probably half of the town.....not seeing how the numbers would add up in his favor

McConnell would bend Jones over twice as hard as he did to old Horse-face Grimes. At least Allison had experience as a statewide office holder coming from a prominent political family. Jones has nothing but his platform as an agitator (sports and otherwise). Matt is also on record as being a big fan of Obama's policies. That dog won't hunt in Kentucky.

I like Matt and KSR. And honestly I side with the Dems more than the Pubs on most issues. But no I wouldn't vote for him. His persona is great for a sports talk show but I don't want that in the Senate.

Also I live in Indiana.

Wasn't being hypocritical (at least not intentionally). I was just using the Dem's argument to make a point. Apparently I failed (not the first time for that!).

I know he's a democrat but has he publicly stated a platform? Has he stated his personal view for the future of KY? I mean an officially stated political platform. Not just passing talk on his show about this or that.

Probably not...because he hasn't officially thrown his hat in the ring.

I'm a registered republican and I'm fiscally conservative. Somewhat liberal when it comes to certain social issues. But I hate both parties. I'm willing to listen to anyone's platform...regardless of their party affiliation. So I'm not saying now that I would or wouldn't vote for him because I don't know enough about him politically.

For that reason, I didn't vote in this poll. As such I can't see the current results??? Anyone wanna help a fellow wildcat friend out.

So if a Dem what the best candidate in the history of the US government, and would improve the world as a whole, you wouldn't vote for them if the only thing you disagreed with was they support a woman's right to chose?

Choose what? You mean 'the right to choose' ripping apart and sucking from the womb a beating heart, then selling the remaining body parts? You people act like you are choosing panty liners or cat litter. The violence of the act ought to sicken every human. 99 percent of the time, it's just murder for convenience.

He's losing 2 to 1, but this is the same state that voted Richie Farmer in by an overwhelming margin, if that tells you anything.

I wonder if democrat and independent Card fans in Louisville would support Jones. If he runs, it will be fascinating to compare his performance to Hillary's in Jefferson County.

I think we are refusing to vote for him based on his beliefs. Matt is no moderate. Not even close. Matt would be another vote for Pelosi. No way any Kentuckian should allow that to happen.

I love the radio show but politically he is just another lib/dim. As much as I’d like to see McConnell go, I would never vote for a dim.

There are moments when you think, “why can’t Kentucky get rid of Mitch McConnell?”

And then names like Matt Jones get floated, and you begin to understand why.

I just will not vote for the Socialist Democratic Party. The Left just wants to take money from the 50% that pays taxes and give it to the 50% that thinks freedom is truly free. Too much socialism.

Somebody need to get rid of old Mitch who has taken advantage of this states republican voting for 30 years to boost his lobbyists & funders while providing nothing to the people he represents. Matt has my vote.

Wow that has to be the dumbest thing I've read. Unless of course you believe it's the republican's job to feed all kids. I think parents are better suited for that.
No, it's the Republicans job to cut the funding to feed these kids, although they can't help how their parents are.
