Looking to resurrect my mobile DJ service. It's been 20 years and carrying racks of CDs into each gig is no longer practical. For clarification I play old school, rap, top 40, etc. and don't "mix" music like a rave DJ.

I'm going digital and putting everything on a laptop, so I need some advice on where to get music that's compatible with the DJ software I have on the computer. I've checked out Amazon and similar sites but it's around .99 cents per song. There's just no way I could do that needing thousands of songs. Long story short I need to be able to transfer the music files to the DJ software. I've tried with streaming sites like Spotify but so far I'm hitting a dead end.

I get frustrated easily with this stuff so I'm pretty ignorant about it. Hopefully I made sense. What would The Pack do?

It's easy, just download Napster and download all you want.

That would be the same as using Spotify. I'm able to download the songs but I can't move the files to the music bank of my DJ software. Unless there's a way that I don't know of. Things were so much simpler when you could share files on Limewire 😔. Damn you Lars Ulrich. Still love Metallica though.

I would think you could rip the songs from the CDs you have. It would take forever, but wouldn’t cost anything per song.
What’s the name of your DJ software? I don’t know what file type it would require.

SPS will make your playlists. Simply tell us a week before the event and what type of event it is.

We will definitely take it seriously. We will definitely keep it tasteful. You probably won't be asked to leave. You probably won't be blackballed.

And we'll do it all for free and the love of the game.
