Props to Monmouth they have quite a team there. These wins should give them a lot of confidence going forward. The sacrificial lamb is biting the executioner's right in the ***, good for them.

Maybe our best coaching move would be to look in on the Monmouth BB coach.
If he was here , he had better do better than he did his first 3 years as the Hawks HC while he was making that program better.
But he was making Monmouth better, that's more than I can say for Flood .
At one time I thought Flood might prove to be a good HC, but now feel I was wrong thinking that.

This was about basketball, and you turned it on Flood. How is Eddie doing these days?

Not good. We have the two most poorly coached / unwatchable revenue sports in the power 5. And also we are told to accept this fact with a 5 year grace period where everything will magically get better.

Amazing to me how futile men's BB has been.

Our last winning season was under Gary Waters in 2005-06, and he had 3 winning seasons. Why did we fire (ahem, he "resigned") him again? Oh, and if I recall correctly, Gary did not "sue" the University for a settlement. Sometimes you need to be careful what you wish for.

2012-13: 15-16
Eddie Jordan
2013-14: 12-21
2014-15: 10-22

This may be a delicate subject because Eddie Jordan is a legacy and part of the 1976 hoopla, but did his professional coaching record of 257-343 give anyone pause? Or were they too busy checking that he was a "Rutgers graduate."

Rutgers revenue sports- going in circles for too many years.

Maybe we should wait until Barchi is out before hiring a new football coach.

Honestly, we needed to hire Jordan just to put some space between us and the Mike Rice fiasco. Even if he moves the program sideways, it was still necessary before hiring someone who could really turn us around.

That's some Rutgers logic right there.

Jordon deserves a shot....so far it isnt exactly achieving amazing results but it took Monmouth 3 years to get better.

hey..I am all for a new/better coach....but one actually has to WANT to come here....no one has indicated that interest except EJ......

I caught the end of that game and was really impressed to watch a team that can shoot foul shots. Talk about a lost art. Bob Cousy would practice them by hitting 100 in a row or start all over again.

Rutgers is the 5th or 6th best mens basketball team in NJ.

SHU, Monmouth, NJIT, Princeton are better, maybe even St Pete's or Rider.

It certainly hasn't happened overnight for King Rice...

2011–12 Monmouth 12–20 10–8 T–5th
2012–13 Monmouth 10–21 5–13 T–10th
Monmouth Hawks (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) (2013–present)
2013–14 Monmouth 11–21 5–15 9th
2014–15 Monmouth 18–15 13–7 T–3rd
2015–16 Monmouth 3–1
Monmouth: 54–78 (.409) 33–43 (.434)
Total: 54–78 (.409)

Like Rice, year four (2016-17) is the season in which Jordan's team must show some serious improvement.

I like Eddie a lot from his RU playing days, but BB is now at Craig Littlepage level. One of he Hurley guys would have been a smarter hire.
