There was a story a year or so ago about a proposed apartment complex that would be in the Canton city limits but in the Madison County school district. It said the kids would go to Germantown schools. Also, pretty sure the Blackmons are out at Canton. Ed was fired as city attorney by the new board. Has he been rehired? The time to incorporate is now, before either Canton or Madison start showing signs of filing for annexation. If you wait till then, you've waited too long.

I just look at Yandell Rd. as a free roller coaster ride. The potholes aren't too terribly bad, but the buckles and waves in the road are about as impressive as you'll ever see. It amazes me that so many nice homes are out that way and the county has never done anything about it. And don't even think about taking that road if it's been raining hard unless you've got a 4wd. You may make it through, and you may not.

I know my wife hated going down Lakeland at 7:30 am when she worked in Jackson. Lakeland is being widened through Flowoodto a 6 lane.

That will be a pain while they work on it, but...

it should really help ease that bottleneck from Airport Rd. to Grants Ferry. That can get pretty miserable, but even on the worst days it adds 10-15 minutes to the commute. Finishing the widening of Old Fannin will help tremendously as well. It will open up the cut through on Liberty Rd. again. I recently just had to start commuting from the Rez area to NE Jackson. I was surprised how easy the Spillway is in the morning. It can back up a little on the way back, but nothing more than a 2-5 minute inconvenience.

I know everyone thinks Madison is the place to be, and I live there.... as far as a family, it's great.

My complaints are really minor: just mainly that it's houses on top of houses and everything's the same. I'm used to a little more space; our backyard is pathetic, and this is kind of a starter home. But it's basically a strip longways. I can hear my neighbors speaking on their patio if I'm outside studying.

Like I tell my friends- I think I could put all of my belongings on the front yard for a week, and the homeowners association would probably fine me before anything would be stolen. But at the same time, it's just kind of bland. I'd want more area if I bought a house for sure, and I aesthetically I like to mix it up some.

You have to watch cops in Madison, too. Rarely any crime, so they're trying to trap you a lot.

I liked Brandon, myself. I have a few friends that are students and have houses there, and I was shocked at how big their homes were.
