This.
Musk enabling Putin is a disgrace and the majority of people despise him.
F him
Enabling Putin or preventing WW3?

Should SpaceX aid a foreign nation in a military offensive against Russia?
Wouldn't the President of the United States and Congress need to authorize SpaceX to activated Starlink terminals in Crimea?
Let's pretend Ukraine did attack and destroy a sizable portion of the Russian naval fleet, with the aid of SpaceX. What do you think Putin 's response might be?

I'd like your thoughts

Lol at the naive obedients

These people have no idea what's coming at them
The kooks in DC want a war with Iran bad - Iran who is in an alliance with China and Russia
Iran has a spectacular array of weapons that can level Israeli cities without even using nukes.
There are 1000s of Iranian forces in Mexico and even in US.
When the crap hits the fan in ME its going to hit here.
Israel could well be tempted to us nukes and decades of war games/models show that when nukes fly nobody waits to get hit and things escalate very quickly.

I heard Macgregor today and its getting scary

I agree, it would. Who among us wouldn't be overjoyed to see Eric or others in his condition up and walking again?

While stuff like this can be exciting sounding, the devil is in the details. And that article doesn't provide much detail or a road-map to learning the necessary details to gain any real understanding of the technology. Like with commitments by recruits in sports, I'll wait until I see how things work out before getting excited.

I hope they aren't being cruel to animals with this research work. I don't object to using animals or humans in testing. But I would object to doing so in ways that don't protect the test subjects (human or otherwise) from being effectively tortured. And, according to the article, there are questions along those lines.

Musk's assurances on the subject are meaningless (as would be the assurances from anybody within or funding the company). Some level of external oversight would be appropriate for something like this, IMO.
All fair comments.

Yes take politics out of it it could have been a serious discussion. As @mdk01 said the possibility to see LeGrand stand up and walk off MetLife turf was my first thought too. Derailed from the beginning.
It's 2 pages long, hardly derailed. lmfao. Is there any topic you don't ruin? Go back to weather thread, you really shined in that.

It's 2 pages because of your first post. It be a lot more without the political crap?
It's funny that you think that crap is interesting! Actually sad if that's how you live life.

Own me? Put down the pipe dude. I have facts to back every post. Including the Philadelphia TV stations. He couldn't find Belmont if he had a year searching. I love idiots like who talk about places you have never been and said I've been owned. You complain about bickering on this thread maybe you should look in the mirror. You are part of the same crowd. 🤣🤣🤣

Why are you posting if you are complaining about bickering? Numbers (not Nimbers)as called many people names. It doesn't make him smarter and the same applies to myself. Actually @RU848789 and I have common ground in other topics. I certainly don't hate him. Just never met up at a Rutgers tailgate to have a beer and avoid snow talk🤣.
What I find funny is your dragging the weather thread into what should be a CE thread to call me out about bickering on the weather thread. Talk about strange.

You’re 0-2 in your last two threads.

Take the L’s and let it go bruh.

It’s sad to see you scratching and clawing.
Especially with your wild assumptions

Why this thread isn't on the CE board, after this aluminum foil hat post, is puzzling for sure!
My post was right on - you just need more gears to "get-up the hill".
Did you see generals in Ukraine are getting ready to ditch Zelensky?
Corruption stories all over and a minster says 500K Ukrainians dead
The whole media was saying they were winning, winning, winning every day.
1000s killed for nothing because US is so corrupt and idiotic
But Ashokan new the truth thanks to Col Macgregor
All I heard for 2 years were the usual tinfoil stuff from the normies
We are on a bad bad road that will not end well

There has to be a first time for everything. Proud throwing props to me, but it doesn't quite feel genuine - seems more like a way for him to troll WB.

And WB, we should meet up someday, as I'm convinced we'd hit it off fine, even if we argued a little over snow and geography, lol - find me any friends who don't argue over stupid ****. You should see the dumb stuff @mildone and I argue about in real life and in our soccer group post-game coffee on Sunday mornings, we have guys on the left and right screaming at each other after being teammates in the game, but then laughing about it later. The same is likely true for 99% of the people on this board. I'm sure I could also enjoy a beer with Proud and bac and I have celebrated more than a few sports moments together at the RAC.

Not worth rehashing the weather thread here, except for one comment. I did not and never will cherry pick data to try to "win" some point - that's disingenuous and I'm an absolute nut about data integrity. You may not remember this, but I'm the guy who has called out a "trained spotter" from Metuchen for what I'm sure is inflating snow totals by several inches in a couple of big storms, probably inadvertently (measuring in drifts), but inflated nonetheless vs. my measurements (taken 50 yards into a friggin' field to reduce the drifting effect).

Have no doubt if you and I met it would be a laugh fest. Talk some music, punk my favorite. Talk about our favorite outdoor activities. Disk golf and cycling. Nice activities to spend the day outside when it's not snowing lol.

I read an article last year that pretty much said the technology Musk is using has been around since the late 80s.

ETA I tried looking for the article but couldn’t find it. I did find that the idea and technology started in the 90s. The stuff they demonstrated in 2021 was already done in 2002. Obviously Musk is very good at making technology better. I’ll wait for the experts analysis.
So before cell phones?

No human being is a national treasure. Cult much?

And, while I hesitate to ask because I know your answer is going to even more nutty than that last one, to which narrative are you referring?
Obviously you’ve never heard of Taylor Swift

Why start the post with a confrontational, and probably untrue, statement? Is that the driving force of all your thoughts?

That's why this board sometimes sucks.
Wish I could like this post 1000X. Could have easily just posted the article and started a discussion on the pros and cons of how the pre-clinical research was conducted and on what the future looks like for this technology, both for people affected by neurological disabilities and for other potential broader uses, which are rightly a bit worrisome.

I think Musk is a brilliant guy who has led some real breakthrough technical efforts and creation of products/markets that didn't even exist before, over the years, but he's also a spiteful bully (like many highly egotistical leaders) as evidenced best by how he essentially ran Twitter into the ground (valuation is reportedly down 71% since he bought it), quite possibly, some believe, because he could. And he's been treading on some seriously anti-semitic/racist turf recently, which is both wrong and a bad look.

Also, as someone else said, plenty of research groups working in this field. Not sure if anyone saw the 60 Minutes piece last year, but Scott Pelle (my favorite journalist on that show) has done a number of segments on the advances of the DoD/VHA group in developing prosthetics (and non-functional body parts) that can be controlled by implanted chips/sensors guided by one's brain waves. Very cool stuff.
