I grew up on Long Island, where it was "Nathan's or Nothing!" I enjoyed going to their restaurant in Oceanside and getting dogs and the cheese fries that you would eat with the little plastic pitchfork. I attended high school with two members of the Handwerker family for which Nathan's was named. Now I get my hot dog fix at Jeppy's formerly of Chambersburg, now in Hamilton.

What year did you move out Bus? My grandfather used to own a candy story there, but sold it after the big flood sometime in the 70's I believe
Right after the flood. Our house was on the front page of the Star Ledger the next day. With a boat in our front yard.

Kenilworth is also opened.
Galloping Hill (not the golf course) in Union also deserves some respect. Been doing it for many years.
Galloping Hill far and away has the best buns. They are actually rolls made special for them. They also get their hot dogs from a custom German butcher in CT.

My favorites in no order, jj's in Newark for dirty water dogs. Dickie Dee's in Newark for Italian style. Windmill in long Branch for boardwalk style.
