OT: Netflix Recommendations

[RPOdawg]

Alright I need some new shows to binge watch. Give me your recommendations please.

[Oak23]

The 100

[CochiseCowbell]

Battered Bastards of Baseball.

[UpTheMiddlex3Punt]

Russian Doll and Umbrella Academy.

I started watching Outlander recently and am still mixed on it. It's Diet Game of Thrones with a splash of Timeline.

[CochiseCowbell]

with a splash of Timeline.

The Crichton novel?

[The Fatboy]

The Last Kingdom

[UpTheMiddlex3Punt]

The Crichton novel?

Yes. Only a splash of Timeline in the sense that it's a woman transported from the 1940s to the 1750s.

[boatsandhoes]

Hell on wheels
longmire

[FQDawg]

I second Russian Doll. It's fantastic.

Dead to Me is good, as is The Crown.

You can also watch old episodes of Parks and Rec and The Office, which I enjoy doing from time to time. Same with Arrested Development.

And if you like goofy comedies, try The I.T. Crowd. It's British, so it's a little different than US comedies but it makes me crack up.

[msudogsrule]

Schitt's Creek. Mindhunters. Stranger Things. Bodyguard.

[WhiteShepherd07]

Russian Doll and Umbrella Academy.

I started watching Outlander recently and am still mixed on it. It's Diet Game of Thrones with a splash of Timeline.

The wife and I have watched the whole Outlander series and it’s good. She’s obsessed with it bc of the love story stuff but it does get pretty good once they make it into America at the beginning of the Revolution.

[Bulldog Bruce]

Sex Education Series
Lucifer Series
Battered Batters of Baseball Movie
The Highwaymen Movie

[Hankp22]

Narcos

Narcos is really good. If you're an HBONow subscriber, watch Chernobyl.

If you like music, listen to Hawkwind.

[Xenomorph]

It’s not Netflix and it’s only 5 episodes but Chernobyl on HBO is one of the best things I’ve watched in years.

[IBleedMaroonDawg]

We need to make a pinnable list we can add to for this topic, shows up every other month. Most of it is really good info to share among the mob here.

Netflix Originals

Dead to Me
Mindhunters
Longmire
Stranger Things (can't wait for season 3 on the week of the Fourth of July.
Russian Doll
Making a Murderer
GLOW
Broadchurch (very overlooked and very, very good)
Orange is the New Black
Sex Education
Evil Genius
Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile (has some flaws but Effron as Bundy is shockingly good)
The Highway Men

Old TV stuff

Dexter (until the season Tom Hanks Jr shows up)
The People vs OJ Simpson (makes you pissed all over again)
The Civil War or The Vietnam War by Ken Burns

[RPOdawg]

Has anyone seen the saprano’s?

[DAWG61]

Don't watch Milo Gibson's (Mel's son) movie All the Devil's Men. One of the worst movies I've seen in two years.

[JML105]

Meat Eater (If you're a hunter I highly recommend)
Ozark
Godless
Blood Line
Documentaries by Ken Burns

[Upyurs]

Bosch on prime

[turkish]

Peaky Blinders is the best I’ve watched.

[Bobby Ricigliano]

Hawkwind - per Lemmy, the greatest band of all time. Also, need to watch some Hawkwind & get an eye full of the erotic, mysterious Stacia.

[aTotal360]

If you got Prime, there's this little show called The Sopranos...

[seshomoru]

Sherlock

Above all else Sherlock.

[missouridawg]

Narcos. All four seasons are excellent.

[Len2003]

Dexter
Ozark
Stranger Things
The Last Kingdom
Nurse Jackie- darkly humorous take on addiction and healthcare, very underrated show

[civildawg88]

Mindhunter or dark (use English subtitles)

[Hump4Hoops]

Bloodline

One of my favorite shows of all time.

[xxxWalkTheDawg]

It’s not Netflix and it’s only 5 episodes but Chernobyl on HBO is one of the best things I’ve watched in years.

i second. Great show that’s damn near a straight up documentary.

And The Punisher is good. I forget if it’s prime or Netflix.. but Ozark is very decent.

If you have access to showtime.... Billions is a must watch.

[Hankp22]

Manhunt: Unabomber

That is a good watch if it is still on Netflix. It seems like Kevin Spacey was a producer and the show just disappeared.

I do not know if it is still on Netflix but that is where I watched it originally.

[dickiedawg]

I realize it's not for everyone, but I second the I.T. Crowd.
Another incredibly funny workplace comedy is Better Off Ted, which is available on Hulu.

[TheGoat.sixpack]

[Carbaryl]

Stranger Things is a given! The Frankenstein Chronicles is solid and so is Castlevania. The Hateful 8 and The Founder are well done. Some well done docs are Patient Seventeen,The Ted Bundy tapes,Abducated in Plain Sight.

Netfilx will have to step up it's game even more in the next couple of years since they lose a number of movie hosting contracts. All Disney and Fox movies will be gone later in the year and all Warner Bros movies will be moving to their streaming service next year.

Those should last you a few days.

Maybe my favorite show ever was "The Killing" which is no longer on Netflix.

[hatfieldms]

Loved the first two seasons of bloodline but thought the way they ended it was terrible. Seemed way to rushed

[kb549]

F1 - It’s a great behind the scenes look at racing in its purest form.

[Hump4Hoops]

I can see that. To me, it was less rushed, and more

how quickly everything unraveled for them. Especially Kevin.
