I went to see mission impossible. Got a free ticket when the sound cut in the first 5 minutes for the briefest of momentsDo people even go to the Movies anymore?

They made the "no phone booths" joke in Superman: The Movie in 1978. Christopher Reeves wants to change to save Lois from a crashed helicopter. The camera shows what looks like a phone booth, but then zooms out to show it's just a phone stand. Reeves shrugs, and winds up changing in a revolving door.Clark Kent always went into a phone booth to change into Superman. Since phone booths no longer exist, how do they pull the change off?
We do a few times a year. The one in Southaven now has fully reclining seats and you can’t see the people in front of you at all and you can order food from your seat.Do people even go to the Movies anymore?
I'm just glad you used OTThe Superman actor changed "Truth, justice and the American way" to "Truth, justice and good things". What do y'all think of that?
They rereleased Indiana jones and the last crusade in theaters for Father’s Day and I went to see it with my daughters. It was awesome. For me anyways. My daughters humored me.

I saw them trying not to laugh when the guy drank from the wrong cup and aged to death
I say that line all the time and I had the movie on back in the spring and it got to that part my daughter looked at me “so that’s where that came from.”I saw them trying not to laugh when the guy drank from the wrong cup and aged to death
My wife is slowly discovering all the movies I've quoted in our 20 years together. The other night, it was bill and tedsI say that line all the time and I had the movie on back in the spring and it got to that part my daughter looked at me “so that’s where that came from.”
We go a good bit. It's just a much better experience than sitting on the same old couch.Do people even go to the Movies anymore?
"under God" wasn't added to the Pledge of Allegiance until in '54. and "in God we Trust" wasn't added to coinage until 1956.Just looked it up and the original was Truth and Justice. The American way was added in the late 40s and sporadically used. So light the torches I guess. Kind of like how the Pledge of Allegiance isn't the same as what George Washington.*****
The director is very far left liberal. Has already had to walk back statements on how he feels about America because of backlash. If they remake a movie, leave it alone. They can change it in China when they edit the movie. They can say whatever when it gets there. It's sad things are all political these days. I won't watch it in the movies or rent it. When it comes out on Netflix, maybe I'll watch it then but I won't give these people a dollar/view before then. It was there idea to make it political. The Superman actor changed "Truth, justice and the American way" to "Truth, justice and good things". What do y'all think of that?

Do you make all your music, tv, and movie choices based on the artist, actor, director etc and their political views? The director is very far left liberal. Cancel culture is only a negative when the other side does itDo you make all your music, tv, and movie choices based on the artist, actor, director etc and their political views?
Gotta love cancel culture.
Since Superman is the subject, I thought this video fit
Or maybe
The politics is why I quit watching movies in the theater. The director is very far left liberal. Has already had to walk back statements on how he feels about America because of backlash. I miss the days when we made movies just for the sake of making them.
James Gunn got put in this position of heading up DC by making the best Super Hero movie ever. That movie had defined bad guys and defined good guys and a clearly defined disaster to prevent. It had humor and a universal situation of misfits finding their people and a purpose. All timeless themes that fit into a bigger story line. Hell he even got cancelled in the process of the sequels. The politics is why I quit watching movies in the theater.

So why does he now think it is time to delve into a current hot topic where he has built in detractors? Why do you want to piss off half the population? I would be very pissed if I was on the board of the studio that gave him the job to make my company money.
Because they made it political. Not me.there is not one moment in the movie that is anti-American. There were actually some “yay America” moments. I swear to Zod everyone wants to be outraged about everything.
I also don’t understand not enjoying a movie because people involved in making it have different political views than you.
Which “hot topic” did he delve into during the movie? What scene or scenes has you put off?James Gunn got put in this position of heading up DC by making the best Super Hero movie ever. Did you see the movie? What part did you find political?Because they made it political. Not me.
I think you meant to post this in the Uniforms Thread. **Just like many other things nowadays:
One group cares enough to change something.
The other group notices the seemingly out of the blue change and says, "What the hell, why are you changing that?"
The first group says, "WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE BRO???"
