That is correct. It should have said "human way" instead of "good things". I hadn't seen the movie and quoted an article that misquoted. I corrected the OP but the motto was changed which was the point.
This actually makes it even more relevant.

if it’s not in the movie why would the actor ever bring it up. Just stfu and don’t POTENTIALLY piss off anyone by trying to make some type of statement.

it’s idiotic to do something like that before a release but dubmass actors and actresses who think they are smart do stupid $h1t all the time.

View attachment 843317I’m This happened in the comics 14 years ago.

also, the creators of Superman in 1938 were the children of Jewish refugees who fled Russia, so like it or not the immigration thing is a huge part of who Superman was meant to be. But once again, I saw absolutely nothing political in the movie. Lex hated Superman because he was an alien, but that is literally who lex has been for forever in the comics. If you want to be offended by a movie that says be kind to each other and do the right thing, you do you. Make sure to tithe at church
14 years ago???
Thanks Obama*

Only on the new SixPack would a post about a superhero movie turn political.

You say Hollywood always made movies with a political slant like this. Tell me, could they make Blazing Saddles today?

What? Marvel and DC movies have triggered people politically for years.
What are you even basing this comment on?...it definitely isn't based on reality in the US.

There are a few jokes they would word a little differently in 2025, but nowadays the "77 million Americans" would whine about how "woke" and "alienating" it is. Y'all get that the racists are the butt of the jokes in that movie, right?

It's the same when people say they couldn't get away with making The Office today. Of course they could (South Park and It's Always Sunny push the envelope this decade harder than The Office ever did), but conservatives would complain the loudest about almost every episode.

I'm more conservative than liberal and I love South Park and Sunny. You paint the world with a broad brush my friend.

It’s a satire on racism? No way**

I don’t know about that but sure, whatever you think.
I really don't know how you could disagree with that. Just look at the threads complaining about "woke" movies we've had in the last decade on this forum alone. Blazing Saddles is woker than all of them.

Blazing Saddles is over 50 years old. It was commenting on a lot of things that were actually true at the time.

The Woke movement of today is mostly just a money grift that has very little truth at its core. See Black Lives Matter et al.

Lots of people said the same thing in 1974, that segregation had ended and it was time to move on from talking about racial issues.

My wife likes for us to occasionally go get popcorn and see a movie while we eat it. We have been known to just go in, get a bucket of popcorn and then go home and eat it.
We have a theater here located within an outdoor mall, we used to go in just to get popcorn and walk around. Now those bastards check tickets before you enter the theater. Must have been a problem or maybe just to keep the stupid *** kids out.

The director is very far left liberal. Has already had to walk back statements on how he feels about America because of backlash. If they remake a movie, leave it alone. They can change it in China when they edit the movie. They can say whatever when it gets there. It's sad things are all political these days. I won't watch it in the movies or rent it. When it comes out on Netflix, maybe I'll watch it then but I won't give these people a dollar/view before then. It was there idea to make it political.
Strange take.

I still listen to Pink Floyd when Roger Waters was in the band, that dude is as far away in political and personal views as anyone, don't care.
I’d say Rage Against the Machine is (especially De La Rocha) is completely different politically than 80% of their fans. Left and Right.

It was said that we were looking at the past as being more favorable when it came to cinema. We were looking at the past more favorable than actually was.

You can go back and look at movies from the 70s/80s/90s and find things. Everybody now has their radar out looking for anything that they don’t like and it gets accelerated by social media pointing it out.

The stuff I see in marvel movies or any movie for that matter that I don’t agree with I just roll my eyes and move on. It’s not worth my time and it’s not changing my mind just because I saw it in a movie.

This is so true. Watch Robin Hood with Errol Flynn and then the later version with Kevin Costner. The Errol Flynn version he gets whipped by Little John but convinces him to follow him. Costner is getting whipped by Little John but ends up beating him up by devious measures and makes him physically submit.

The 1930s version of Robin Hood is woke because it depicts the struggle of the Saxons to achieve equal rights with their Norman colonizers, including impersonating men in Holy Orders and even telling a monarch to his face that the Crusades are wrong. Oh, and the whole bit about stealing from the rich to give to the poor!

(** but kinda not really)
