Just one note. DON'T go to Little Italy for Italian! There are probably 50 Italian restaurants in Manhattan better than any in Little Italy...
Go to Scalini Fedeli, Maialino, or Lupa for Italian, depending on price range in that order. Alta is a good tapas place, reasonable price. A great bar/restaurant is spotted pig. Good casual place that's different is Momofuku Saam Bar. If you're a redneck need redneck food at least every other day, go to Hill Country for barbecue. Burger Joint and Shake Shack are best on burgers...good previous calls. Also previous good call is River Cafe for visitors, because of view and great service. Best steak is Peter Lugar, but it's in Brooklyn. In Manhattan, Quality Meats brings it, but kind of a man place. If you have women, go to BLT Prime or if you're going to be drinking and want to liven it up a bit, Striphouse. If you really want to come home broke, go to Park Avenue Winter for lunch and Eleven Madison for dinner.
You're welcome.
