I paid $2.99 for gasoline yesterday on Route 10. This decline in prices is a welcome respite. Hopefully it has a disinflationary effect on other products, given that gas/oil is an input for so many other goods produced/delivered.

I recently read that US oil drilling and oil production reached the highest level in American history: 33 million barrels a day in Nov.

$2.99 on Rte. 4 today. I think winter blend normally brings a slight decrease but not this much.

It’s Election politics
The real question is what would production have been, if we had we maintained the trajectory we were on in 2020,
Didn’t the current administration say inflation had nothing to do with the purposeful gutting of our oil production on day one.
Waiting for the election year spin!
Please don’t ignorantly argue that our production was not gutted day 1 of this clown show.
Had we maintained that production inflation would have never crossed 5%

Station at Passaic Street and Rochelle Avenue in Rochelle Park is down to $2.87/gallon.

And probably a thread that should be sent of to the CE Board.

Production dropped because drilling companies shut down rigs because no one was driving anywhere due to the pandemic. Right now there are more active rigs and approved drill lease sites then ever before.

“ All of The Above” energy policy has boosted energy supply to new levels plus more EVs, efficiency appliances have reduced demand for oil a few ticks.

I don’t think anyone can complain now, especially with $3 gas.

Not really. It’s only the few that get bitter about gas prices going down because everything is political to them.

Plus, I remember BrotherSkinny’s “Failing Windpower Thread” stayed on the football forum for weeks.

Yeah the Costco in Flemington is at $2.95 and has been under $3 for a few weeks now. Most happy that 93 Premium is at $3.62.

Filled up at a quick check first week of November it was 2.98. 2 days later it was 3.23.

They gouged for the Thanksgiving holiday and now it’s coming back down. But we an are still .50 above pre pandemic numbers.

Wait, are you saying that oil companies should have kept up their level of production in 2020?
