Get the feeling Soto will be the Yanks Saquon BarkleySoto HR first at bat
I could not like this post enough!!!!Can we just have Iglesias and Quintana back for one more season? Both earned it.
Easy to spend somebody else's money. Especially if somebody else is paying the 110% tax on that money. Can we just have Iglesias and Quintana back for one more season? Both earned it.
Uncle Steve said that it’s OK for me to finally start thinking that way with this team, lolEasy to spend somebody else's money. Especially if somebody else is paying the 110% tax on that money.
I do believe this though: If Stearns says to Cohen, "We MUST sign this guy", Cohen says OK. I do not think Stearns has said that - yet.Uncle Steve said that it’s OK for me to finally start thinking that way with this team, lol
Where did you read that?Thought I read today they are signing Iglesias?
Wonder if this will lead to a trade, Marte?Don’t we kind of need an infielder?
Unless the Mets are willing to pay a large portion of his salary, it's not happening!Wonder if this will lead to a trade, Marte?
That guy could never stay healthy. When the Cubs got him in a trade he was recovering from a season-ending muscle tear.Madrigal out for season.
Sarcasm?Glad we didn't just sign OMG...
Doc must have a crystal ball.Sarcasm?
Iglesias came off a career year. He will not repeat it. Remember we are talking about the last spot on the bench. I am just as happy with Baty and Acuna competing for that role, with Mauricio joining the mix in mid-April, and likely Jett Williams at mid-season.
Now if the Mets can somehow move Marte and/or McNeil, that's a different story.
He isn’t a .340 hitter but his defense alone warrants a job. And we desperately need a guy that can backup the infield spots and with that said, he really isn’t all that expensive. It’s all about him having no minor league options.Sarcasm?

He is 110% more so the incremental improvement if any from him to Acuna doesn't make much sense. He isn’t a .340 hitter but his defense alone warrants a job. And the fact they paid the guy who got hurt and he was under the Medosa line.He isn’t a .340 hitter but his defense alone warrants a job. It is quite possible that in 2024, Iglesias will have a career average season. That would a 91 OPS+, which by definition is below MLB average. For a glove-first utility player, a 91 OPS+ is quite acceptable.Doc must have a crystal ball. The odds are against Iglesias, but today with all the analytics, who to say he couldn't have another solid season. I think it's more about the money Iglesias wants.
