Hilarious that we are facing Luccesi and then Butto and even just got a steal on Butto

4 losses in a row. That sucks. I am highly highly concerned about our bats. Like major league concern level.

Watch it. Someone will come along soon to label you a complainer. Remind you that we have a GOOD team that is contending.. Unlike the Brewers who scored 16 tonight with a team that probably has a third of the payroll and has the best record in baseball.

And playing one of the worst teams in MLB.

Good thing they got those 16 after giving up 9 to the Nats.

You mean like when we played the Pirates last month and gave up around 30 runs in a 3 game series? The opponent thing is such a Yankees fan thing to say. Where's KBEE? Especially when everyone plays everyone.

That is usually trolls from the other team who like to say we only have 5x the action in our thread because we are complainers.
Myself, I am ok if a fan is composing, because it means they are a fan.
As long as they are also open for baseball discussions.
I also like that as Mets fans, we are also appreciative of baseball talk in general, even if it is about another team.
I think most of us are Mets fans first and baseball fans as well.
Makes for a good thread.

now stop the damn *** complaining! Lol

I’m just talking about last night.

The Brewers scored 16 but still gave up 9. To a lousy team.

We don’t seem to be giving up the 9 that often…to just about anyone.

As I’ve said earlier in the thread…ebb and flow, ebb and flow.

That’s how the MLB season usually plays out if you’re an above average team, which I believe the Mets are this year.

Maybe, as was said about Mets fans, he can't figure out how to get over to this new site or doesn't want to ask for help. There, I cleaned up how it was presented by the Angry Bus. I do miss KBEE's take in a odd way, lol. His classic is he sleeps better when the Yankees win and the Mets lose. He's not missing much at the moment. :D

I wonder whether there has been any detailed statistical analysis done to identify hitters who are more streaky, meaning more susceptible to hot and cold stretches, than others. It seems that we may have at least two such hitters in our top 4, maybe more.

The silver lining is that is the hot streaks align at the right time, "streaky" can win you a world series --- if you can make the playoffs

I get it. I just want to win it so bad. It's been waaaay too long. I need a title. I want a title. Cohen wants a title. He wants it for himself as a long time fan. He wants it for us. And he has backed it up with his resources. And we all know for a fact that to get it we are going to need the highly paid guys at the top to carry us there. Not alone as we need contributions 1-9. But they definitely need them to lead the way. And right now they are not. And have not for a while now. Thats not to say they cant or won't in the postseason. We'll see. But as someone else said we also need to get there first.

Reds vs Braves are playing at Bristol Motor Speedway tonight.

I don’t think that is a terrible call. Not a good one, but not terrible.
Nah- bad as it gets. Here is the thing- there are still Umos in the league that were calling them before all the graphics, replays, etc. known for calling high strikes, low strikes, pinching the zone etc…

they used to get away with calling a strike like that for Seaver, Gooden, etc…but as their jobs are quickly getting automated and fans and league can analyze everything to half an in to determine a HR derby.,,they have to do better

Great game today- good to see back to back power from Pete- Lindor/Nimmo big- Baty just on base and Mullins doing his thing. Senga is starting to worry me but outside of the Garcia inning- this BP is platinum.

I have a great song pre Helsley and Diaz to close games- doing it when the manager is coming out to get Helsley before Diaz- "Balls to the Wall" by Accept. Then straight to Hells Bells and the Trumpet for for the close.

I don't know if there is a way to keep both but man- both have great entrances- I would love to have this as the pre entrance as soon as the manager starts waliking out

I suspect that Garcia will be gone shortly. Blackburn likely will be back next week.

For the first time in forever, when someone asks you to name the eight relievers in the Mets pen, you will be able to do so without having to check the Transactions column first.

And just as I post this, I see Garcia has been DFA'd. They'll probably bring up one of their interchangeable bullpen arms for a few days, and then replace him with Blackburn sometime next week.

I was at a party yesterday and got into a conversation with a Met's fan...funny thing is that at an event like this, I lose interest in a single conversation with just one person after about 10 minutes. And I kept trying the, gotta go check on how my wife is doing and many other tries to get away. lol But he would just follow. anyway- he got into his opinion about just about everything and he hit on one that I have heard often about Diaz...now that Hensley is here, we don't need Diaz next year. And he is happy about that because Diaz just isn't elite and not that good this year. And I asked him if he remembered the last time he gave up an earned run (2 months ago) and what his ERA would be if he didn't have those back to back games in early April- it would be (0.43) those are such crazy numbers that it baffles me when someone says they would want anyone else. But have to say it again- this BP is sick good. Our setup/closer combo can rival anyone

Is it me or is it weird that a team has a Sunday day off (Atlanta) - I don't know if I recall the Met's having a Sat or Sun day off. Seems strange

I think MLB built the day off in case they had weather issues with the game at the racetrack which ended being rained out.

Now they can play it today instead of having to find an off day for both Reds/Braves to make it up.

So, they will be playing today? It’s funny because in my fantasy leagues, still shows it as an off day.
Thanks for the exclamation, makes sense now

In this new world of umps being judged game-by-game against the electronic strike zone, this is about as bad as it gets. The umps are so much better today than in the past because of they way that are evaluated almost real-time. Therefore, the worst calls aren't as bad as the really bad ones from 20-plus years ago. But this was bad in today's game.

And, yes, this is the same guy who had a recent bad game that Mets fans saw. He's gonna get a rep.
