Stop getting picked off

Keith warned last week that teams would finally stop the Mets from taking all these ridiculous walking leads

There was zero doubt that Bader was going to go yard there. I told my son it’s coming.

Rodgers dominates the Phillies 1,2,3 on like 8 pitches and they don’t send him back out. Instead helsley blows it. Infuriating

Great gutsy win. No more helsley
Your wish is not coming true anytime soon.

Mendoza didn't say it, but he certainly implied that the Phillies had Helsley's pitches. He did throw a few nasty sliders which the Phillies spit on. I kept thinking how did they take that pitch - unless they knew it was coming.

Exciting game and a great win. Need to figure out the 8th inning. Maybe Rogers. Unless there's a McLean or Tong in the bullpen at Syracuse.

Anyone else worry that Diaz would get hurt from Alonso’s throw covering first? Looked just like the throw to Senga.
I worry anytime Diaz has to do anything but pitch. He is by far the most important part of this team right now.

One thing I liked about Manaea last night...He is the only pitcher we have that does not walk everyone. I am all for this "pitching lab" but man, we need to change the pitching coach after the year. since he has been here, our staff walks more batters than almost anyone else.

Speaking of coaching - even though we have a few base running issues every once in a while, who has been in charge of our SB's? Our ratio is off the charts this year.

I give you nuggets almost every day on who to expect to come up! As Worm said the next prospect pen arms would be Dylan Ross and Douglas Orellana(stunk last night though) and then in AA they have Ryan Lambert and Saul Garcia(Related to Wilmer Flores) and some others.

Reimer is en fuego at Bing. Another 3 hit night. Gordon another good game at AA.

John Bay one of our 2025 UDFAs was promoted to Brooklyn already and made his debut there with a hit. Our first 2025 pitcher made their debut in Truman Pauley. He was our 12th rounder out of Harvard. He wasn't as successful but on a tight pitch count on about 20-25 pitches. Doesn't show up in the box score but Mitch Voit made like 5 crazy defensive plays last night which is good to see while he's not hitting.

Helsley has said he believe he's tipping pitches and trying to fix it but it is tougher than it looks like. We can't continue to throw him out there in big spots so for now he needs to go to the bottom of the pecking order until he cleans it up.

Is this a mental thing with this guy? I’m with @Anon1751600095 here…do your job.

He is a closer, right? Maybe the adjustment is harder than it looks.

Could be mental. Could be he's really tipping his pitches. Could be he's just not as good this year as last even though he's not THIS bad. He wasn't as effective with the Cardinals this year as he was last year. Batters were hitting him harder.

Antoine Richardson the 1st base coach.

Mauricio is expendable. Plus they can add another position player on 9/1. Siri can pinch run.
But at least he gives some position flexibility. 3B, 2B and SS. If something were to happen to Lindor in a game where he had to exit there would be no replacement absent either Mauricio or Acuna.

I am not able to watch so just see it online- that is just a stat that jumps off the page like crazy. We have seen 49 pitches in 5 innings but I don't think I ever saw it with 5 K's

Last time we had this was Scherzer in 2023... nice to have some elite starting pitching. Hopefully McLean can continue this good stuff

6 pitches in the 6th and it includes a K - not to keep on this but this really is not like anything you normally see
