Excited to see Tong tonightSerrano and Baro picked up so me leg injuries so they're going to miss the rest of the season. A bit of a disappointing year for Baro as a lot of people thought he would have the kind of breakout that Ewing and Reimer had. Now that doesn't mean that it still can't come as he just turned 21 this week and scouts love his tools.

Bad signing to begin with...Montas out for 2026 season, having surgery. Owed 17 million.
I am sure it doesnt end up 15-0 but damn- great game to be at.I am confident the jinx is over. After 8 losses going with my daughter, Having a 12-0 lead looks good!
Tong wasn’t overly sharp or dominant but glad he got through 5 and hopefully the Mets can secure him his first win.
defense didn’t help him much either, some soft hits.
Abysmal sign from Stearns from day unoMontas out for 2026 season, having surgery. Owed 17 million.
Can we give him a Mulligan on this one? He's light years ahead of what we've had going all the way back toAbysmal sign from Stearns from day uno

Maybe. Depends on how the policy (if there is one) is written. Some only cover injuries or disabilities which are considered career ending, which this is not.I think Mets get to collect on insurance policy
As long as he never pitches for the Met's again. Take the lo$$Maybe. Depends on how the policy (if there is one) is written. Some only cover injuries or disabilities which are considered career ending, which this is not.
At this point, I would rather just see Holmes in the BP for a while but since Senga needs that extra day, we may as well go 6 men. And after Tong's start - it would be criminal to not keep him starting. What I like with both McLean and Tong - they both showed they can pitch in big spots in NY. That is huge. I can't remember such anticipation and amped up crowd for a rookie first start in a very long time. It was like a playoff game and McLean had the "must win" gem against the Phil's...I normally am not fond of the six man rotation because it leaves you one short in the bullpen. But the Mets can add another pitcher on Monday, so that concern is mitigated.
A question for anyone who cares to comment: At this point, who are the untouchables? I would say four: Benge, McLean, Tong, and Pena. Anyone else, I'd be willing to listen to trade offers.
