Sure are. Went to check the standings today for the first time in a while to see how much ground they gained on Atlanta, and puke. Phils 8-2 in the last 10, Atlanta 9-1. In a good spot for the wildcard though. Think the Marlins are beginning to show their true colors now and won't be as good the rest of the year. These bums are playing good baseball.
The Braves seem to go on a 30-40 game insane run every damn yearSure are. Went to check the standings today for the first time in a while to see how much ground they gained on Atlanta, and puke. FIFYI know. ATL just doesn't lose. Thank God for Wild cards. (plural)
Well if Pache is hitting 9th inning pinch hit go ahead home runs, I'm ready to believe anything.
Stott plays every day. Will Topper give Stott and Schwarber a rest against these two good lefties and play Harrison and Sosa?
The best thing about today's win was seeing Schwarber and Marsh hit lefthanders.
Each team gave the other three runs.
Just 97 years ago.10th and Pattison in Philly, the future home of Citizen's Bank Park 1926
Well it's a fluke but good for Mickey. He was always a decent guy.
Good for him, but it's still only been about 1/4 of a season for him. He's overperforming his expected stats based on batted ball data. The fluke continues. Mickey is putting up some amazing numbers. 45+ homer 130 RBI pace projected on 600 AB, is playing against lefties now that Trout is out, and is hitting .336 with an OPS 1.014
Maybe he's learned to hit line drives -- wouldn't that increase his BABIP and other measures of batted balls? Of course, you may be right that his performance is a fluke. Or maybe the Phillies couldn't figure out how to coach him.Good for him, but it's still only been about 1/4 of a season for him. He's overperforming his expected stats based on batted ball data.

When the Angels come to CBP in late August, people will be going to see him and not Ohtani.
unless he means that Ohtani will no longer be with them.LOL. I'm gonna have to disagree. Ohtani is a historic baseball player.
Sometimes a player just needs a change of scenery. Being a #1 pick puts a lot of pressure on a kid to succeed in the organization that drafted him, and sometimes it's easier to play elsewhere.Well maybe we (and the Phils) we're all wrong about him. They must have seen something to pick him #1 but he did not look like he was going to pan out. Now it looks like he will. Good for him. He always seemed like a cool kid.

Right along side TroutThen he'd still be there but in a Phillie's uniform, right? ; )
More line drives does increase BABIP, but expected stats take how hard and what angle a ball is hit at into account. Still having a good year, but I wouldn't expect him to keep it up going forwardMaybe he's learned to hit line drives -- wouldn't that increase his BABIP and other measures of batted balls? One of the kid pitchers, Painter likely to get TJ surgery, out until 2025

I think Soto would be fine with the team since he played with Harp and Turner. The fans may get annoyed with him though. He sure can be a bit lazy at times when he’s not having a good day tho.Lots of Phils talk about a potential deal prior to the trade deadline either bringing us Ohtani or Soto. I think we’d have to give up too much to get Ohtani, especially with the risk of him not resigning with us as a FA this offseason. Soto we can realistically get, it’s just a matter of making the deal happen. Not sure about Soto’s personality fitting in Phila, but his talent is undeniable. We also need another bat and a better LF.
Ohtani would cost way too much for only half a season. Plus I don't see him moving another 3 or 5 hours away from Japan.Lots of Phils talk about a potential deal prior to the trade deadline either bringing us Ohtani or Soto. I read that article too. No thanks. We’d be giving up too much plus losing a starting pitcher ….. I’d rather see us get a corner OF (Bellinger or Soto) and a starter. It seems that Dombrowksi is set on getting a starter and a right handed bat.Ohtani would cost way too much for only half a season. Plus I don't see him moving another 3 or 5 hours away from Japan.
Seen elsewhere: "A package of Schwarber, Rojas, Painter, McGarry and starting pitcher Taijuan Walker could get the Phillies into the sweepstakes to land the best player in baseball before the deadline."
That's a LOT of baseball player for three months of anyone.
Soto hits lefty -- would you want him anyway?I read that article too. No thanks. We’d be giving up too much plus losing a starting pitcher ….. I’d rather see us get a corner OF (Bellinger or Soto) and a starter. It seems that Dombrowksi is set on getting a starter and a right handed bat.
Soto and Bellinger both do. I’d take either. I’d prefer Bellinger as he’s having a great year, he plays anywhere in the OF or 1st base and he’d prolly require less in return.Soto hits lefty -- would you want him anyway?
