Marsh's injury may be a killer.
He was the best player on the team over the past six weeks.
Still,a return by him and one from Hoskins in late September could be a nightmare for opposing pitchers. That 1-9 could be one the best ever.

Marsh is a great player for the Phils but Bohm, Stott and Castellanos are having better seasons and have been more consistent since the All Star break.
Thankfully it's not a long term deal for Marsh. He has been a tremendous pick up for the Phils.

Hoskins isn't coming back and I'll wish him a nice adios for the rest of his only hot 4 weeks a season career.

That kid Rojas is hitting .326 last I looked (yes, small sample size). We'll survive a week or two without Marsh.

Marsh is expected to be out 3 weeks. In the meantime it’ll actually be fun to see what we have in Wilson (in limited action, of course).

If Schwarber, Turner, and Harper have all turned the corner, Castellanos is back hitting, and Bohm and Stott just keep getting better by the game… look out MLB.

Anyone else catch the Rutgers grad (Jim Sweetman) in the booth tonight? He won the ALS auction to do play by play for an inning.

He seemed like a natural and also worked in a bunch of Rutgers shout outs/references into the inning (Eric Young, Eric Young Jr, Todd Frazier, some random grad from the early 1900s who played a few games for the Phillies).

Are you a poster Jim??

The playoff schedule was announced today.
The NL teams can go with three starters and possibly only 11 pitchers due to the off days.
Even if the Phillies wrap up the No.1 wild card early,it would still be important to beat out most of the AL teams in case both teams meet in the Series.
Just as I write this, the Nats hit Hoffman on Dustin's birthday to tie it up.

I saw it. I usually skip through (or mute) guests in the booth or Taryn Hatcher. Or Ruben Amaro.

Well, that was quite a pickup after last night.
If Topper junks the 6 man rotation,Lorenzen goes against Ohtani on the 28th with me in attendance.
I was at Millwood's no -hitter in 2003.
The last out was the same as was tonight with the Giants' batter flying out easily to Ricky Ledee.

I was at Millwood no hitter too. On day before my birthday

Mets fan saying hello from the basement (or is it bottom of the septic tank?) and wishing the Phils good luck. Great run for you guys. Please be gentle if the Mets and Phils play again.

Something that the media hasn't reported:Bohm,Nola, and Realmuto will be allowed into Canada next week now that sanity has been restored.Harper was on the IL last season when the TRJJ restrictions were still in effect,so we can't say about him.

Which insanity would have kept them out?

With Joey Gallo in town this weekend with the Twins
Here's when him and Bryce Harper played on the same little league team

The next baseball strike is not going to be about money. It’s going to be about umpires’ accountability. Phillies had two tossed for this idiot umpire’s hideous calls:

Taking this duty away from humans is long overdue. The technology to do it has been around for a long time.

so here's the scorecard. Ump was good until he wasn't, one of his few mistakes of the day had the biggest impact. You rarely see the mistakes favor one team or the other by more than 1 run.

No game today, but it is the anniversary of one of my all time favorite stories from Philly sports.

The power is back.
With 2 fewer games played than most teams, over the last 30 days the Phillies have hit 6 more HR than any other team,30 to 24.
If Hoskins can return-along with Marsh-this team can have power 1-9.

saw this on reddit, Harper's inside the parker hit at almost the same spot and against the same team as one Utley hit.
