I think more than a thorn. It's their conference now. To the remainders go the spoils.

I hope they are successful in obtaining some sort of short term financial windfall. They seem unclear on what they might be able to influence if given sole authority to vote on league matters going forward. Sounds like what they really want is a pause on any decisions being made by the broader league members until their legal standing is determined.

At the very least, the Pac-12 would retain broadcast distribution rights to any prior conference games, and OSU/WSU would stand to benefit from licensing/selling those rights to the outgoing members' new conferences.
