It's interesting that four of the top five schools on this list are from the ACC. You'll probably have to click on the graphic to see the larger version where it explains the chart's numbers.

thanks for sharing vernon.

i'd be really interested to know what the full cost of attendance is for the private acc schools - duke, wake, miami, syracuse, boston college.

if they were honest, you'd have to believe they were at least $10,000 a year or more.

durham, winston-salem and syracuse aren't too expensive to live in on a decent salary.

but miami and boston college have to be at the higher end of the spectrum in costs. how are they going to pay their football and basketball players (legally)?

I don't know if that's true. Living on a decent salary really isn't comparable. A player at Miami or Boston College probably has most everything he needs within walking distance. In a small town like Winston-Salem, it's probably harder to get around. You'd have to drive a lot more (more gas money) or take a fairly lengthy cab ride (probably costs a lot more to run a cab service in Winston-Salem than Boston, since you don't have nearly as many customers). Sure it's cheaper for a local who lives in the town, but if you don't actually live there (aside from school), it probably is fairly expensive
