West Virginia offers Noel Devine Jr
The son of West Virginia running back legend Noel Devine is starting to make a name for himself, although he’s only 13 years old.
Noel Devine Jr., a Class of 2030 prospect, earned his second scholarship offer this week. After Miami extended one Sunday, West Virginia followed today.
Athletic background
Devine Jr. plays quarterback and has already proven himself as a standout athlete. Earlier this summer, he placed first in the 100-meter dash at the AAU Region 10 national qualifying event, clocking an impressive 11.30 seconds to earn a spot in the Junior Olympic Games in Houston.
The freshman at North Fort Myers High School is looking to follow in the footsteps of his father, who became one of the most decorated running backs in WVU history.
Legacy
Noel Devine Sr. was a national recruit at North Fort Myers, rushing for more than 6,000 yards and 78 touchdowns in high school before heading to Morgantown. With the Mountaineers, he became one of the most explosive players in college football, piling up 4,315 career rushing yards and 29 touchdowns from 2007-2010.
Now his son has the attention of both Miami and West Virginia before he has even taken a high school snap.
