1.Northeastern only competes in hockey at a high level albeit they did have a run for 3yrs of excellent baseball so there is only academics to root for
2.Northeastern grads have long been sought after as bright and hard working, NU routinely beat all Boston area schools in academic beanpots
3.NU's rise has more to do with the school transitioning from commuter school to a more traditional school with a superb int'l presence
4.NU's administration wisely changed some things that matter in the rankings calculation
NU has always had top programs, now the school as a whole is being recognized for what it is but
right there
make no mistake, this has hit top companies in the area as well given how many RU grads at top employers in the area. I've heard this many times from varying desks etc etc.
