Protesting the fact that some of the buildings are named after Woodrow Wilson because he was a racist.

"Having to walk by buildings that (have Wilson's name), having to walk by his mural, having to live in residential colleges that didn't want our presence on campus, that's marginalizing," said Asanni York, a black junior who is majoring in public policy. "People are hurt by that. All this matters because, at the end of the day, black people's feelings matter just as much as any other people's feelings matter."

What is going on? I guess we will need to change the name of any schoool, bridge or building named after George Washington or any of the other founding fathers since a lot of them owned slaves. Maybe we should cross their names off the Declaration of Independence so we dont have to look at them.

Yes, we know 100 years ago and 200 years ago there was a lot of racism in this country, but its our history, we can't erase it, use it to teach instead.

Right cause, wrong reason:Wilson sold all of us into slavery in 1913,when he gave away control of OUR money to foreign bankers. We needed a wall against them. Some believe that these fiends sank the Titanic just to kill one man,John Jacob Astor,an opponent of their scheme.

Let's go into countdown mode on when a protest happens at Rutgers. The Targum has a "woe be us" article once a day.

So far in NJ is Princeton, Kean, CNJ, so 3, 2, 1 RUTGERS. BTW the press will blow RU's protests out of the water when they happen.

This board bl*ws now. There are more junk non football threads than football threads.

Our football program is in shambles, we're in the middle of another great CFB season and the board is filled with junk.

What's is worse, people posting this cr*p here and not on the current event board or the guys on here don't want to talk about CFB?

Don't give that "don't click on it then" nonsense. When there is no order, there is chaos (and few clicks).

Yeah, thats a step (or more than a step really) too far for me. If you got rid of all of the buildings named after racists, or slave owners, or those who benefited majorly from the slave trade in the North (such as textile mill owners or makers of molasses), you won't have many buildings left.

But such is college life. Protesting stupid stuff has been part of college for the past 50 years, and I dont expect that to change. But protesting this stuff is a disservice to others who protest more legitimate greivances about the way blacks are actually treated in 2015, not how they might have been treated in 1915.

Well, if anyone posts a thread that is NOT negative about the current team, the upcoming game or the schedule, they get ripped by the lynch mob for being a Floodie. There have been several good articles by Dunleavy about the upcoming Army game, but the last one I posted turned into a pissing match about our lack of depth and how my post was making excuses why Rutgers would lose to Army. There are two games left and regardless of the opponents and their records, there is nothing wrong with supporting the team, but doing that on this board does not seem possible now with the lynch mob ready to pounce on anyone or anything that is remotely positive.

Hey York, we've sorry you've black. But, get over it. There is no more slavery. I feel bad that I'm old and poor, but I deal with it.

I'm still waiting for the little Marxists to go after Wilson's party (the one that represented slave owners, instituted Jim Crow and fought anti-lynching laws through FDR). But since the same party is currently holding WH and helping ISIS get in (not to mention chopping up fetuses, forcing boys into girls rooms, cross-dressers into military etc) I guess the wait won't be over soon.

Rutgers had a similar moment when the vocal minority became outraged at Condi Rice's invitation to speak at commencement. They didn't want to have to hear opinions that differed from theirs, bitched and complained, and were rewarded for their misguided efforts.
