RU build 7 years ago vs gtown rebuild today are extremely similar. Gtown may be harder though because the new coach is coming in being left zero players. Say what you want about Corey but he was a very talented guard.

Pike didn't inherit a ton but he did get more than the gtown coach will.
1) Brand new facility to sell
2) Corey, Mike Williams, Nigel Johnson, Jon Laurent, Deshawn Freeman, Doorson (will the gtown coach be left with better than this?)

The problem is you have zero perspective and just think that no other school in the country will ever have to rebuild their program lol

Again you keep trying to change the topic here haha, it's obvious why. But to play your game, I've criticized schiano ALOT more than pike in their first 3 years.

That’s cute you’re responding here where the history of the conversation is gone. I’m not trying to change the topic here I’m literally asking you to respond in the other thread you ghosted jfc.

I want you to respond in the other thread where you moved the goalposts to a different field.

Convenient you ghosted that thread. Just take the L.

The problem is you are too goddamn stupid to understand that 30 year records of futility impact recruiting.
and you're too goddamn old to understand that a 16 year old recruit doesn't give a **** what happened 30 years ago

Not directly lol. The 16 year old recruit lives in the world. They knew that Indiana basketball was prestigious and Rutgers basketball was not. They don’t need to go look up the results to figure that out lol.

It was a completely different thing recruiting wise once the facility was announced.
That’s completely absurd. But it’s not even relevant. Pike did not exactly build the most heralded team here recruiting wise and yet has gotten us to probably slightly above average results for a power conference team. Whether the past recruiting was entirely his fault or not.. who cares? Look at current recruiting. If he gets these great recruiting classes and still hovers around the bubble for the next 4 years or whatever then let’s have this conversation

This thread is amazing. OP passive aggressively makes this thread in a way to act like he’s not trying to bash Pike even though there was already a Princeton thread and if he wanted to congratulate them could’ve just done it there, then it gets derailed by the most obvious suspect in the most obvious way, and then another 20 comments of debate about something that these two people have derailed multiple other threads with. Just annoying.

Is it ok if people comment about the NCAA tournament without someone feeling the need to use the thread to put down Rutgers?

It seems like it’s every thread.

Can’t people just enjoy March Madness and share their thoughts and have a lovely discussion WITHOUT making it about Rutgers?
Back to the title…Princeton.

I wonder what their NIL budget is?

In all seriousness, they are not a fluke and pretty much schooled Mizzou last night.

Does a stable roster/continuity of four year players mean more now in this new era of transfers/NIL/portal/annual roster turnover? Do teams like Princeton have a better chance of upsets?

Yep.

They can’t help themselves. You know they are some real $hitty takes when those two are agreeing with each other.

I even saw SantaFe liking some of their posts, as if you needed any more proof of how phucking dumb the posts are.

No just look at Penn State. Went to portal twice in consecutive years as what someone called the worse job in the big ten and went father in big ten tourny than we have ever been, won tourny game against 15-3 SEC team, in year 2 or the coaches tenure.

Congrats to your sister.

But you were posting in that thread multiple times last night, so not sure what that has to do with anything?

It’s the one Skoolie compared you to RutgersAl Lolol.

Also - I see multiple people quoted you this morning in the thread.

Not hard to find.

Pike also had a practice facility that is unsurpassed by any peer announced a month after he got the job.

His first few years he was sharing facilities with other sports full stop

You and kyk have become tge worst posters here

Lets note Sojo wanted more time for Eddie Jordan

Penn State beat a 7 seed

Rutgers beat a 7 seed

Rutgers had 3 ncaa seasons in 4 years

Penn State had 2

Northwestern had 1

Do the morons here factor the Mag injury as to why Rutgers didn't fulfill their potential or are they going to act like RU would be 19-14 if he didnt get hurt
Change the result for every game we missed mag, and the result for every team we played who missed a starter, where do you think we end up?

Pike was left dog **** compared to Ewing and the practice facility did not exist until a few years into his tenure. The new Georgetown coach already has a great practice facility. Additionally, Rutgers was still remembered as the joke of the NCAA thanks to ESPN. Pike was able to recruit Diamonds in the rough like EO, Geo, Harper and Caleb and now he has stepped up his recruiting big time but people like you watch the NCAA tournament as jealous babies asking why can’t that be us

I said in 2019/2020 Penn State was a 5/6 seed before the tournament was cancelled. You must not tell lies.

Well you said this…I must have misunderstood how you wrote it so my apologies.

“In the last 4 years penn state has been a projected 5/6 seed in the NCAA tournament, made another bid with a 20pt round of 64 win, and played in big ten tournament final.

Anyone thinking that program is irrelevant is sorely mistaken”

Even so, being projected to be a 5/6 seed for one season is um, meaningless.

Worry about the horrible job Schiano has done and the exodus of season ticket holders
Greg took over a broken program Pike the same
First 3 years under Pike
2016–17Rutgers15–183–1514th
2017–18Rutgers15–193–1514th
2018–19Rutgers14–177–13T–10th
It takes time to build and some act like once a coach takes over a bad program it has to turn around quickly or that coach is a failure.
But every program has those that look at things pessimistically.
Schiano might fail, just like people felt Pike wasn't doing enough to be kept on at the end of his 3rd year , but were glad he was here after the 2019-20 regular season was completed
Whether it's basketball or football, coaching RU isn't a cakewalk to quick success.
But many of the fanbases of both act like it is.

I started reading this thread as I have been so impressed with Princeton in MM especially in the context of this changing landscape, and it keeps turning into a Pike discussion, so if I may give you an outsiders view FWIW.

Pike is a darn good coach and has made the program relevant again. He is a defense first coach (obvious) and the stats back that up. That's all recruiting and coaching, so he gets the credit for that. The offense has been inconsistent, but defense keeps you in the game and enables you to upset opponents which you have. It also puts you in a position to lose an unexpected game. With Mag, you were an NCAA team; no doubt. In a hypothetical world, if Pike got fired tomorrow, he'd have a list of job offers by Wednesday. So the constant whining about him from some posters is just silly (we have the same type of posters that have whined about Sha - Not tethered to reality.)
