They were absolutely dominant. The rebounding disparity stands out and really demoralized Missouri down the stretch. The are playing at a higher level than their 15 seed.

What is your suggestion? Fire him? If not, then just stop yapping…
Ive been clear. Stop needlessly extending him and making it impossible to let go of him years down the road if he refuses to change his style. With hobbs giving him an annual extension he effectively has a lifetime contract here, undeservingly so

C’mon, seriously? Compared to Schiano, Pike has been God but we don’t see you bashing him.
This is false. Pike was hands off for me first 3 years as was schiano. Ive been more critical of GS than I was of pike first 3 years.

Pike and schiano have nearly identical win % in b1g play first 3 years despite football being significantly harder and our football conference has legitimate perennial national title contenders

Worry about the horrible job Schiano has done and the exodus of season ticket holders

Pike and schiano were very similar first 3 years. Schiano better in years 1 and 2. Pike better in year 3. Football is a much harder build though so I dont see football ever really getting above 8-4. Maybe we see the occasional 9-3 if we strike gold.

Football does have about 4X the season tix holders of bball tho (see how silly it is to compare football and bball)

Absolutely comical you basically give Schiano a pass for all of his missteps in his first 3 years (keep in mind this is his second time at RU with a boatload of experience).

I’ll give you that the results weren’t all that different but you would be foolish to say Schiano did a better job than Pikiell year 1-3.

Yea let’s just completely ignore Schiano’s first 3 years back!

Its a silly game but I got time this morning and your response indicates you realize it.

Pike year 1 vs p6 opponents: 4-17, 19% win %
Schiano year 1 vs p5 opponents: 3-6, 33% win %

Pike year 2 vs p6 opponents: 4-16, 20% win %
Schiano year 2 vs p5 opponents: 3-7, 30% win %

Pike year 3 vs p6 opponents: 8-15, 34% win %
Schiano year 3 vs p5 opponents: 2-8, 20% win %

(You know youve won when they start trying to change the topic and still lose). Janowski and scangg even said themselves that something changed with me because i was a huge pike fan years 1-4. What changed is that it was a huge rebuild and imo criticism was off limits (yes i always had concerns about his offensive philosophy just didnt voice them as loud). Were going into year 8 now and still dont have an offense.

Pike also had a practice facility that is unsurpassed by any peer announced a month after he got the job.

You have some serious reading comprehension issues. Do I have to start bolding everything for you?

Why the Phuck are you spewing off stats? Did you not read where I just wrote:

“I’ll give you that the results weren’t all that different but you would be foolish to say Schiano did a better job than Pikiell year 1-3.”

I’m talking about how you ride Schiano’s jock and don’t (or hardly) ever criticize him for some pretty bad missteps in his first years back here (OC blunder, other coaching whiffs, pushing kids out (O’Neil) and bringing in crap to replace them, QB blunder, not bringing in receivers).

The guy is still massively stubborn and gets in his own way.

This all happened in his first 3 years back.

You ever think our record could have been better than it actually was?!

Also - I’m still waiting for you to respond in the thread about the RU build 7 years ago vs. Georgetown today. Or do I assume you’re taking the L over there?

Inconvenient truths. There are people here who think pike is god and need to get a dose of reality
Count me among the god worshippers, but it’s not as you characterize where I’m content with being an annual 11 seed. I’m thrilled to be a 9-11 seed caliber team for 4 straight years when those years are 4-7 of his tenure. For the years ahead I want us to take another step. If Pike were bringing in classes of 2 and 3 star guys who we’re praying would become the next Geo, RHJ, or Caleb, then I would not be satisfied. But that’s not what he’s doing. We have a 2023 class that rivals any in the conference. We have a 2024 class coming that Kansas would be more than happy with and that’s before Dylan potentially joins. Your claim that we’re in love with Pike just over breaking the 30 year streak is simply not accurate. It’s because he’s made us believe that it’s only going to get better. I am supremely confident my take is the norm among those who love Pike.

There’s more to the feeling around a coach than just looking at the record..

For one thing, that jump in Pike’s winning percentage in Pike’s third year is pretty relevant. At the end of Pike’s third year we were obviously improving. I am not nearly as anti-Schiano as many around here but I certainly didn’t see any such thing last football season.

Secondly, kyk might have a point if not for the huge recruiting uptick we’ve recently seen. Seems pretty reasonable to expect that better players will lead to better results, so why would we do anything besides wait and see what happens?

RU build 7 years ago vs gtown rebuild today are extremely similar. Gtown may be harder though because the new coach is coming in being left zero players. Say what you want about Corey but he was a very talented guard.

Pike didn't inherit a ton but he did get more than the gtown coach will.
1) Brand new facility to sell
2) Corey, Mike Williams, Nigel Johnson, Jon Laurent, Deshawn Freeman, Doorson (will the gtown coach be left with better than this?)

The problem is you have zero perspective and just think that no other school in the country will ever have to rebuild their program lol

Again you keep trying to change the topic here haha, it's obvious why. But to play your game, I've criticized schiano ALOT more than pike in their first 3 years.

The problem is you are too goddamn stupid to understand that 30 year records of futility impact recruiting.

Is it ok if people comment about the NCAA tournament without someone feeling the need to use the thread to put down Rutgers?

It seems like it’s every thread.

Can’t people just enjoy March Madness and share their thoughts and have a lively discussion WITHOUT making it about Rutgers?
