The last 20 years show your comment to be accurate.

Comparing the last 20 years to the 90 before then shows how unjustified ag land costs have become. More fail safe measures will have to be put in place and/or current ones will need to be reinforced(increased) to assure the model doesn't collapse.

Yeah, about the only way anyone should really consider buying real estate is if they want to be in it for the long haul. I agree with your other post too regarding why to buy a home. My current home is a good example - it's in a good location (or at least I think it is) coupled with the fact that we bought it to live in, not to flip after 6 months. I've found you typically come out pretty good if you take into account location, timing, and commit to a minimum of 3 years.

Sometimes what you thought was a good location doesn't mean too much if you're living in a place like Jackson (as I found out several times), regardless if you live there over 3 years.

Related house hunting question for Rankin/Madison...

Is there a way online to find the purchase history (purchase amount and date) for listed homes?

The purchase history is listed on zillow for other states, but I noticed its not shown for Brandon or Madison listings. Zillow, trulia, etc only show purchases from the last 6 months or so.

Have to say Hidden Hills is a great neighborhood. Plenty of neighborhood events. Tons of younger kids running around the neighborhood playing all the time. As far as the Lakeland traffic if you don't work downtown or in Jackson you won't have to experience much of the traffic and it's really not that bad. Around Christmas time obviously there is going to be a lot of traffic but that is usually just on the weekends. In reality it's not that big of a deal. If you worked in Ridgeland/Madison and had to cross the Spillway you might sit in traffic a little bit in the afternoons coming home. I guess I'm basically saying the traffic isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
