He was a very good comedic actor. And I saw a clip tonight from the West Wing -he was good in that as a Republican lawyer so he had some depth. Not sure what Bob’s issue has been with this.

Agree with you both. He is a pretty good actor and, indeed, both the Whole Nine Yards series and the West Wing episodes he was in show that.

Jacuzzi and heart problems don’t mix well. He was playing pickle ball for two hours before going in.

Why do hot tubs put your heart at risk?

When you submerge your body in hot water, your temperature rises, but your blood pressure drops.

Evaporating sweat normally helps cool you off. But, when you immerse yourself in hot water, that natural cooling mechanism doesn’t work. As a result, you can’t cool off.

When your body gets superheated:
  • Your blood vessels dilate to try to help cool off the body.
  • Blood diverts to the skin, away from the body core.
  • Heart rate and pulse increase to counteract a drop in blood pressure.
Normally, these events don’t cause problems. However, if you have existing cardiovascular disease, the cascade of events could overtax your heart. This can lead to:
  • Loss of adequate blood pressure, if your heart can’t pump enough blood.
  • Increased blood pressure, if you have blood vessel disease or narrowing and hardening of the arteries.
  • Dizziness or feelings of faintness.
  • Nausea.
  • Abnormal heart rhythms.
  • Inadequate blood flow to the heart or body.
  • Heart attack.
There are almost always signs posted in publix (at hotels, resorts, and such) for hot tub/jacuzzi tub areas that warn against using those facilities if you have hypertension/HBP or heart/cardiovascular issues because just sitting inside one, seemingly relaxing, can still kill you from cardiac arrest.

I'm not a good judge of acting talent so can't say if Perry was a good/bad /great or terrible actor
But he was nominated for a bunch of acting awards according to this
Matthew Perry - Awards - IMDb
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001612/awards/

Perry did 2 episodes of The West Wing which were 2 of the best episodes in the series, which is saying a lot.

Yes, he was good.

OTOH, Schwimmer made my skin crawl every time he opened his mouth. His character was just another reason why Friends was stupid. Someone like that, in NYC, would have been beaten with a lead pipe in fairly short order.

On the whole, the show fundamentally presented a completely unrealistic view of 20something life in Manhattan. It always bugged me that Monica was supposed to be a pro chef but for some odd reason was always home.

Not a weirdo … just saying what should be said. Your daughter a senior in college you say can be sad which also can be termed to be distraught? Nope fortunately none had addictions to opioids or drugs per se… 2 uncles had alcohol issues after WW II … I did not bring up “trauma “ in any thread but that’s a way for you and several others to make his death appear like it was just a normal drowning in a jacuzzi. The man was in extremely poor shape for 54 or do you buy this notion that beside being sober he recovered his physical health. I highly suspect Perry knew time was not a friend. So dad explain to the kids that they should not let Perry’s death bring them sadness. Tell them to celebrate someone who overcomes adversity in their lives . This thinking that Matt Perry overcame his issues is untrue. It did not make him stronger . If it did he would still be here making his fans laugh instead of tears .

I’ve had REAL on ignore for probably a year now.
With each you post, you provide more and more enlightening information.
FRIENDS episodes took about 6 hours to film
They had to move sets and cameras around, do multiple takes etc.
There was alive audience but it wasn't like acting on broadway.
Actors for something All in the Family were good but Perry's character was pretty thin - just hamming things up. I thought he was the least interesting character

And the expert weighs in

I’m close with your age only because you and several others are so outraged by hearing the truth about Matthew Perry …a kid who grew up with that show. You will continue like them believing the belief that sober… doesn’t mean cured. Also there were several initial reports which referred to the no drugs in his system. You adult / youngsters live in a very different time. You want to be right … that’s ok just realize that I also mentioned no drugs found. Now go do something constructive . Talk to you later kid.😎
You octogenarians live in a different time today too - and you specifically are out of touch. Everyone knows he had a massive drug problem - but you seem to hate him for it. You hate when people bring up your age in discussion, but it’s all you got when someone counters you. You’re not wise - just crotchety and weird.

My issue in this? I’m in favor or rehabilitation and sobriety for the estimated 22.5 million who are now attempting to stay clean. The estimated 20.5 million others who are heavily addicted to one or more lethal drugs. This isn’t about weed and products which incorporate them. It seems we all felt bad about Matt Perry ‘s death. I was called many things yesterday because I spoke out against what others claim was a front against this 54 year old soul and mentioned “ no drugs found at scene. “ so far that is true… never mentioned a “ toxicology report as another claims otherwise.
Hypocrites all… People are sad and hurting? How about instead people become more accountable for their actions . The article I read this morning ( Harvard) warns of the issues young adults are having in all areas of their lives …Matt Perry had the world by the short hairs he needed someone back 30 years ago to sit him down . Where were all these counselors and concerned? Watching Friends every week .

Liar.

THIS is the problem everyone has with you.

Because what you ACTUALLY SAID was
He showed no signs of drugs in his system.

Which is what everyone called you out for.

And he actually doubled down on that statement in his next post!

It means exactly that . No drugs found in his system. This idiot millionaire at some point loved his booze and drugs for years and he already had multiple medical issues . You aren’t very bright if you don’t see that. The guy more than likely had his heart attack as most suspect. In males your 50’s are a dangerous time for early death.

Who is tom1994? tom1944 is probably close to your age. He is also lucky enough to have such a great life he never gets angry.
These days, it's pretty unusual for me to get angry. Even irritations are momentary, usually fading away within seconds.

But I can't say I'm never angry. It's just very rare. I'll go years without being angry.

I do not recall the last time I was angry. As I get older, I realize how fantastic of a life I have had, and it really changed how I handle stuff. I spent more time being angry when I was young.

I have two posters on ignore. It was only one before this thread.
F
I have T2k on ignore so that helps
tom1944: you’re a guy who still hasn’t reached my age . Putting people on ignore is what we would expect from you when you want to be part of a crowd . Just go back to those days when you saw city streets burning, shutdowns, criticizing those who didn’t engage in your beliefs. Nobody should be put on ignore for more than week. If someone puts you on ignore then by all means put them on ignore. You are now on ignore..
