I noticed holes eaten dog and cat food bags in garage awhile back, figured it was the cat or big rat. Then started noticing dog and cat food in the water bowl next to the food, ahh ha moment, coons washing/softening food before they were eating it.
Then wondered if they were coming in during the day when garage door is up? Nope another ahh ha moment, they were coming in at night using the small cat door cut into garage wall so cat can come in and and leave birds, mice, snakes, etc at the back door (funniest one was a live crawfish w/ legs chewed off but still alive, pinchers snapping at me when I stepped out the door one morning, had to think of cat carrying crawfish in mouth getting pinched while bringing to garage). Back to coon story...
I walk into garage one morning about daylight still half asleep and not one, not two but three coons come hauling *** around my wife's vehicle between my legs and out the cat door. Spilled coffee all over, stifled a scream like a little girl and had to immediately go inside and do my morning constitutional which is usually much later in the morning. Bought an old style metal trash can w/ a lid and haven't seen the Coon family since.
