Norman must have been a Yankees' fan as they had a pitcher named Fred Sanford in the early 50's.

Lear's death puts a new leader on stiffs.com dead pool.
The contestant has 7 correct picks out of 10.
He's still-pardon the expression- alive with Eva Marie Saint,Glynis Johns, and Jimmy CVarter.

RIP

an amazing resume of shows that were groundbreaking and pushed boundaries and made you think and many of them would not be put on the air today despite their sheer brilliance and nuance in showing how people truly are and do get along

He went by Fred, but his name was John Frederick Sanford. No "G," the G stands for . . . . . .that was one of the most memorable lines from Sanford and Son, along with "Lamont, you big dummy!," and Aunt Esther, "You better watch it, sucker!!"

Creator of classic sitcoms All In The Family, Sanford and Son and others. Passed on at age 101. Trying to delete. Didn't realize there was a post on this already.

If I remember correctly, less than 50-50 survival rate for B-17 crews in Europe during WWII.
My father took a different route...paratrooper 82nd Airborne. I can't imagine jumping out of a plane behind enemy lines, while the enemy was shooting at you.
Truly the Greatest Generation.
