Former Ram QB Roman Gabriel passed away. RIP Roman.

RIP. I figured he died at least 20 years ago. Was a good QB. In College Hall of Fame.

I grew up a Rams fan. Rooting for Roman, Jack Snow and the Fearsome Foursome. Feeling old.

He was one of the first Eagle QBs that I rooted for, but he was at the tail end of his career at the time. I was about 6 or 7 when I started being an Eagles fan and RG engineered a couple of late season wins vs the Giants and expansion Seahawks. I was hooked!

He wanted to be a movie star. Was with Merlin Olsen, Rock Hudson and John Wayne in one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies, "The Undefeated".

Same for me and since Rosie Greer was from Union County thy had a relatively local player to root for as well.

I never saw him play but I remember seeing leather footballs with his signature stamped on them

Back in the day when you were lucky to have four games on TV on a Sunday (2 NFL and 2 AFL) it always seemed that the 4:00 game on CBS was Gabriel and his Rams against the John Brodie led 49ers.

It's always hard to remember when guys played at least when we were youngsters and certainly those that played before I watched. I clearly remember the name Roman Gabriel and i didn't think he was 100 but I did have to look it up.
