Many candidates promise to fix this or that on Day 1. Thinking voters obviously understand there's little to nothing that can be fixed in a single day, particularly when it's a problem 4 years in the making, and understand this to mean that it's something they will start addressing/working on on Day 1.
As to blaming Biden. Trump is in his 5th week in office (or thereabouts). Obama was blaming Bush for his problems in the 8th year of his presidency.

I work in this space. I know what tariffs are going to do for the next several years.
It will take companies years to re-source material in which they are buying from China and Mexico to the US. Moving it to the US will create jobs that most Americans don't want, it will increase prices and it will decrease quality. There are plenty of Republicans that don't agree with the tariffs.
The bright side: we are improving relations with neighbors! I can somewhat buy into the Mexican tariffs given the drug issues. I am baffled that we are attacking our friends from the North.

I am ok with Trump's agenda of no longer letting the United States be the giant teet at which everyone get to suckle. Canada has 63 fighter jets. In their entire arsenal. They depend on us, almost entirely, for military defense. With all that money they save, they get to throw around free healthcare.

I haven't heard trump suggest we are implementing tariffs because we are protecting Canada. Maybe I'm misinformed. All I have heard was fentynal referenced. Maybe Trump should convey to Canada that they have a year (or whatever time frame) to ramp-up defense spending or..... I could certainly buy into something like that. Quantitative numbers would back it up.
You and i can afford the increase prices and the stock market hit. Some can't. I feel for them, because they were promised a short term outcome that is not going to happen.

I am all in favor of largely gutting the military defense spending - that goes directly against the grain of the typical (R) talking points. Spending nearly $1 trillion dollars on defense every year is beyond insane. We got plenty of nukes and conventional weapons. Take a break for a while and let the rest of the world FAFO. Rapidly. IMHO of course. Democrats hate the military and vets anyway, this should be an easy point to agree on.
But - as soon as Trump or (R)'s would bring that up, democrats would kick, scream, and fight against that too. If Trump and (R)'s found the cure for Cancer, democrats would fight it. Guaranteed.

They aren't buying into the lies so they are not republican? As also mentioned, the other side is just as bad.
