Got a 65 inch that is about 6 or 7 yrs old. The left side of the picture is shaded out.

Fixable? Or just buy another smart tv? And should I get away from Samsung TVs for something different?

Have all Samsungs
Main TV is a 55” LED 3D one that is 16 years old and just now starting to get a vertical line on the left side
The worst one is a 65” UCD or something like that that is 4 months old.
Worst picture of any of the 5 I have

Get a new one. Why spend &200-$1,000 to fix an old one when you can get a better one new for $1,600.

If you can’t fix it yourself, replace it. Not likely to fix it yourself, ever.

Samsungs are good TV’s. No need to change unless something else toots your horn.

Just replace it. Lots of good brands. I have mostly LG's but one brand that is supposed to have a lot of bang for the buck is TCL.

Doesn’t get better. I had one do that, put up with it for about a year, then it eventually crapped out.

In other words, it’s on its last leg. Just get a new one, these smart tvs are fairly cheap

Lucky. I thought my Tv was going out and got all excited about getting a new one but it was just a weird glitch.

This is a known Samsung issue. I had a 4 yr old Samsung and it slowly started losing vertical bars with darkness. Still shopping, leaning towards Sony or LG currently.

If your looking for top of the line get an LG OLED, I got away from Samsung a while ago first with a 65 inch Sony LED that was excellent but later upgraded to a top notch 65 inch LG OLED and let me tell you the picture quality is outstanding. According to me, other people and the experts they have the best TV and picture quality period.
