I dropped 42 lbs in 4 months...
8 years ago the wife got into running.. in a big way. They she got into fitness training. Now she's an instructor. I'm 6'0" and always been involved in sports.. lifted on and off all my life.
3 years ago 2 things happened: First, I got on the scale one morning and it said 211 and my 36" jeans were tight. Second, I realized my wife had exercised herself into being completely out of my league.
It dawned on me.... I'd had enough of that ****.
Drastic diet and lifestyle changes. From Sept. 25 to January 1... I was a fanatic. Tracked every calorie every day. Strong weight routines at the gym with 20-45 minutes of cardio. Treadmills, elipticals, arc trainers, stair climbers... anything and everything. Even some P90x plyometrics every once in a while.
My goal each day was 150 grams of protien and 1500 calories. It's tough to eat like that, and it's expensive.
I was in the gym 5 days a week.. sometimes 6.. sometimes 7. For a stretch I would do cardio before work and go back for weights in the afternoon.
I weigh 186 now at 40 years old and I carry it a whole helluva lot differently than I did 3 years ago. Backed off to 4 days of weights and 3-4 cardio. I may eat pizza with the kids once in a while, but I don't put the crap in my body like I did for a decade. Now I can put the baby in the wife's Bob jogging stroller and reel off 5 miles without a second thought.
Ask yourself.. Do you want to go on a diet or do you want a lifestyle change. Me? I ain't going back.
