Since you are specifically asking about medication, I take 50mg of Vistaril (hydroxyzine pamoate). Does the trick for me. It's not a benzo, and it's not addictive

I've had trouble sleeping most my life. I'm a 100 mph kind of guy. Like you, I've tried everything.

Now, I put my noise canceling buds in & listen to scripture at a very low volume. I fall asleep, stay asleep & sleep peacefully.

You may not be spiritual. Neither was I, but its the best thing I've tried.

Go get a dry sauna. Game changer for your health. Get one that gets 185°. I have a sauna pod. Helps with sleep, stress, cardiovascular and general illness like cold/flu.

I have one. Wish I could say it helped with sleep, but does not for me. Mine won't go that high though (and most infrared ones don't). Glad it helps you with that, though.

Mine is not infrared. That might be it. I sweat like crazy in mine.

Is that a home sauna thing? I’ve looked at those, but couldn’t decide if I would use it consistently. Which one do you have if you don’t mind me asking?

I'm interested too. Most of the better ones are $500+, I'd like to be in it for less than $300.

It’s really a shame that I don’t know you better. It’s been my experience that if I even hinted at sex you’d be asleep in a matter of minutes. It’s pretty much foolproof on my wife!

I feel for you folks that can't sleep. When it's time to crash, I can be out in minutes and then could sleep at the end of a runway at Hartsfield-Jackson.

My wife has been sleeping better after starting ashwagandha. I’m thinking about trying it. Where do you get delta 9 gummies?

Sorry it this has been a recent topic (I searched and didn't find anything). What are my fellow non sleepers taking to get to and stay asleep? I've tried everything OTC/natural and nothing works. I've tried all the sleep hack/rituals also, none work for me.

The only two things that work for me are Delta 9 and Benadryl, but would rather not take either every night.

I've tried Doxepin, but no luck, what other prescription meds should I try? I understand Ambient has a lot of side effects, what are some meds that work, but have less side effects?
How much caffeine do you drink? And what time of the day do you drink it?

Routine before bed?
Regular bed time?
Sleep apnea?

I struggle but keeping a steady routine helps me.
Cut back on caffeine and none after 10:00 am.

Melatonin supplements are BS. It’s way too much melatonin.

I started having trouble staying asleep about 4 years ago. Never any trouble falling asleep but once I was awake I could never get back to sleep. I am self employed and over 50. Went to my primary physician and she told me she sees it all the time and gave me an Ambien prescription. I hate any medicine. Tried it. It did nothing for me. I did not realize it at the time but I was losing serious focus and concentration on everything and in my business that is really bad and it led to a very expensive mistake. I tried fighting through it but finally after a couple of years went to a men’s health clinic and had about an hour and a half consult. Did blood work and found out my testosterone was extremely low. I did not have any physical issues but all between the ears. Been on testosterone for about a year and a half and it made a massive improvement. I sleep a good 5-6 hours now and the clarity and concentration are back.

You'd be incorrect. There is no 8 hour rule. That was created via the Industrial Revolution and people have just accepted it as truth.
I take Calm by Bravenly along with very low doses of magnesium and melatonin and I'm actually sleeping well for the first time in my life. Was taking their Drift too but there was some duplication of things and the cost was too much. Calm is expensive but so are Dr visits and medication. I eliminated caffeine after 10 am too.

I've been trying Apigenin, L-Theanine, Magnesium lately along with using a 670nm red light lamp at bedtime. Seems to work to help me relax and drift off but no matter what I take if something clicks in my lizard brain then I'm screwed for the night or most of the night. First time I tried Ambien I woke up 2 hrs later. Thursday night I was almost out and something clicked in my brain and then was wide awake all night restoring cars from the frame up in my head.
I came here to post this. My sleep was terrible and this worked for me. I was able to get off of it in the last year and my sleep randomly decided to be normal again. I say that as i type this at 2:49 am with full blown insomnia. These three medications helped me as good as my lunesta prescription did, if not better. No groggy feeling the next day. It also doesn’t feel like you took anything when you take them. I’ve been called into work after taking them and hardly noticed. It just relaxes you and not only helps you fall asleep, it is the only thing I’ve ever found that helps you stay asleep, too. That was always my biggest problem. I could usually fall asleep just fine, but I’d wake up between 12-3 and just could not fall back asleep.

It's a lot to read through so I'm sure this has already been said. I used to sleep like **** and wake up a dozen times, struggled falling asleep. I think one of the reasons was my dogs sleeping in bed with me - they don't anymore. I sleep great now, better than I ever have. I strength train 5-6 times a week, but I think any exercise helps. I eat clean mostly of the time, but I'll indulge on the weekends. I used to have noise (tower fan), but I got rid of it. I take high quality magnesium before bed. I put my phone up about an hour before I want to fall asleep and read. I don't know if it's one of the changes I made or all of them, but I finally sleep hard.
