I remember when he committed to Michigan at the age of 6. Wonder what happened?Shouldn't Rhett be like 41 by now?
I thought he did a decent job at Ole Miss.
Only issue I had is at QB.
I thought Matt Corrall should have been playing more. Actually thought he was a Top 5 QB when he left HS.
The reason why people are doubting him today is that he isn't the greatest offensive mind around developing passing QBs.
SunBelt is a tough conference. Even Neal Brown spoke on it.
Funny because CUSA raided the conference a few years ago and the conference has improved.
But ULM hasn't.
They have actually regressed.
Until Rich Rod figures out that teams want passing QBs his career will dead end at the G5 level
It's getting shittier every year.CUSA is a sewage dump of teams not wanted by anyone else.
It's getting shittier every year.
Rhett Rodriguez will probably be starting quarterback for rod.
Certain SunBelt schools wanted a merger...
The arrogant LA Tech AD acted like those schools weren't good enough. Including ULM. Ruston, LA is only 20 something miles from Monroe
They want to divide it East to West.
They are right those CUSA teams are not good enough.
Keeping appearances.
LA Tech is in a better position because the CUSA has more schools closer. They aren't travelling East too often.
But ULL has to play in Boone, NC.
Much rather play in Houston or Hattiesburg.
WVU has to travel westward 9 games out of the year in basketball and 5 or 4 depending on the year for football. Tell those soft shelled crab lovers to suck it up.
They only had 2 player drafted from Akron...
On the surface it looks like they didn't do too much there.
But you also have to account for undrafted players
He has 4 undrafted players in the NFL as of right now.
I don't see anything there on the surface to say Terry was great.
I am not close enough to Akron to say the difference between his teams and everyone elses for sure
You want to look at...
1) Wins and Losses
2) NFL Talent
At least need a coach to accomplish one of these things.
Because the NFL Talent sets you up if you do change coaches.
Coaches jobs are to win Not put players in the NFL.They only had 2 player drafted from Akron...

Terry did better at the University of Akron than anyone had done in decades. Winning one game a season had become normal before Terry. I rest my case. Just as the 2 coaches who preceded Nick Saban at Alabama had losing seasons, and Saban NEVER has had a losing season at Alabama (7-6 first season, double-digit in victories every season since then), I evaluate by how well a coach does compared t those who preceded him at the same school. It's easier for a new coach to have good W-L records at Ohio State than at Akron, by far. What Terry did at Akron was astounding. 1-win seasons were normal at Akron before Terry. He turned that around. He did fine at Auburn, too.
Coaches jobs are to win Not put players in the NFL.
Coaches jobs are to win Not put players in the NFL.
Combination of both like I said.
Yes winning is #1
But producing NFL players helps your recruiting so if you are trying to create a program you want to be able to sell things
End of the day high school recruits look out for themselves
They want to play in the NFL
So if you are scraping the bottom of the barrel for talent at a program like ULM you want to sell the NFL.
The amount of talent that comes out of Ouachita Parish is more than some states.
Do a 250 square mile radius around Monroe, LA.
Enough talent even at the G5 level to win and put players in the NFL.
You already see what Billy Napier is doing in Lafayette.
Jeff Traylor has started at UTSA
HS Recruits want to better their lives. They all have difference priorities.
At the end of the day there isn't a single player who walks into a CFB scholarship.
There is a reason they are there. Often times it is $$$$.
So as a CFB coach you are trying to provide the best opportunity for them to get $$$$
The NFL is one of the best ways to motivate a player to work his *** off.
So ultimately that dictates the W and L record of coaches
